U.S. Marshals Arrest N.C. Bank Robbery Suspect in Maryland

Washington – The United States Marshals Service, D.C. Superior Court Warrant Squad and D.C. Superior Court Special Response Team arrested Delonte Rashaun Seburn, 33, of Hyattsville, Maryland.

On Sept. 24, a man entered the Mechanics & Farmers Bank branch at 13 E. Hargett St. in Raleigh, N.C. The suspect passed a note to the teller demanding money, was given approximately $1600.00 and then fled the scene in a taxi.

Information gathered into the robbery lead detectives in N.C. to Seburn and a state warrant was issued. Detectives were able to track Seburn to the Washington, D.C., Maryland area and requested the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, D.C. Superior Court Warrant Squad.

Information gathered throughout the investigation lead U.S. Marshals Deputies to the area of 7000 Highview Terrace, an apartment complex, in Hyattsville, Md. Deputies spotted Seburn in a nearby park, and with the assistance of the D.C. Superior Court Special Response Team, arrested Seburn without incident.

Seburn is currently being held in Prince George’s County Detention Facility and is awaiting extradition back to N.C.

“This was a case where communication between law enforcement agencies and perseverance helped in the apprehension of a dangerous person. I would like to take time out to commend the Deputies on our Warrant Squad, our Special Response Team as well as the Detectives from the Raleigh, N.C. It was the cooperation of all that lead to a successful result,” said U.S. Marshal Michael Hughes of the District of Columbia, Superior Court.
