Albuquerque Murder Suspect Arrested in Dallas, TX

Albuquerque, NM - On June 15, 2012 Deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force in Dallas Texas arrested John Willie Jones. Jones was wanted for his involvement in the fatal shooting in Downtown Albuquerque on 06-07-2012. It was believed that Jones was the man who actually shot the victim.

Albuquerque Police Department Detectives asked the Marshals Service Southwest Investigative Team (SWIFT) for assistance in locating Jones once they believed he had left New Mexico. SWIFT Investigators quickly began to attempt to locate Jones and worked closely with APD and identified possible associates in the Dallas TX area. SWIFT Investigators then asked the Marshals Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force to assist in locating Jones. Deputies and Task Force Officers quickly learned that Jones was definitely in the Dallas area and apprehended him without incident. Jones will be booked into jail in Dallas, pending his extradition back to New Mexico.
