Murder Suspect Arrested

Taos, NM - Wanted fugitive John Pritchard was found and arrested in New Mexico in connection to the murder of his estranged girlfriend Robin Bailey, in Akron, Ohio. At approximately 11 p.m. on Friday October 14, 2011, John Pritchard, 52, was arrested in Taos, New Mexico. Robin Bailey was found in her home in Akron, Ohio with an apparent gunshot wound on Tuesday, October 11. Bailey’s car, a 2011 Toyota RAV4, and her dog were missing at the discovery of Bailey’s body.

U.S. Marshals in New Mexico received information from the Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, that Pritchard was possibly hiding out in rural Taos or Santa Fe, New Mexico. Deputy U.S. Marshals and the New Mexico State Police located and arrested Pritchard just outside of Taos. During Pritchard’s arrest he was found in possession of the victim’s dog and her vehicle.

John Pritchard is being held in the Taos City Jail on charges of receiving stolen property. He is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
