Harrisburg, PA – Acting U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced today that the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Jeffrey McGough, Jr. in Greencastle.

McGough - a 29-year old man formerly from Schenectady, New York - had been sought on multiple warrants since September 2010. In September 2010, an Indictment was issued by a federal grand jury in the Northern District of New York, charging McGough with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and use of communication facility during the commission of a felony. In October 2010, the New York Division of Parole also issued a warrant for Parole Violation.

Through their investigation, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force developed information that McGough was staying with a friend in Greencastle, PA. On September 22, U.S. Marshals, members of its Fugitive Task, along with officers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Greencastle Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriffs Office went to the friend’s apartment in the 600 block of Victoria Drive, Greencastle. During a search of the apartment, McGough was found hiding under insulation in the attic. Several marijuana plants were also recovered during the search.

McGough, is scheduled to have an initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Harrisburg at 4:00 pm Thursday.
