Most Wanted Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Roswell, NM- Deputy US Marshals arrested one of New Mexico’s Most Wanted gang offenders, Adam Cruz, Friday evening, August 19, 2011, in the 600 block of South Pine St., Roswell, NM.  Cruz was wanted pursuant to an arrest for Armed Robbery.  The arrest came just one day after Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the South West Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) adopted the fugitive case at the request of Roswell Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.


Deputies went to the residence of a relative in order to conduct an interview.  Deputies were preparing to leave when they observed a male subject rounding the southwest corner of the residence.  Deputies immediately recognized Cruz and moved in to cut off all avenue of escape.  Cruz responded to verbal commands and was arrested without incident.  District of New Mexico, United States Marshal, Conrad Candelaria, said "the Marshals Service New Mexico's Most Wanted Program continues with resounding success, and the arrest of this dangerous and violent fugitive is another example of the exceptional partnerships that are maintained between the Marshals Service and all law enforcement agencies within the State of New Mexico and the results of our combined efforts are safer communities for all New Mexicans".


Adam Cruz has a criminal history that includes robbery, burglary and narcotics.  He is affiliated with Southside gang of Roswell, NM and a Sureno Clique out of California known as “Whatever’s Clever”.  Adam Cruz was booked into custody and is awaiting his court appearance.
