U.S. Marshals Capture Escambia Fugitive in California; Michigan Wanted Man in Pensacola
Lancaster, CA – The U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSRFTF), working in conjunction with investigators from the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) in Pensacola, FL arrested a man wanted by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office this afternoon in California on a warrant charging him with Lewd and Lascivious Molestation of a Minor and Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor. Elmer Omar Bonilla, 40, was arrested at about 1:30 (PST) this afternoon at his mother’s house by the Task Force based out of Los Angeles.  According to Task Force Officers there, Bonilla was captured after he stepped outside of the home on the 44000 Camolin Avenue in Lancaster, a suburb of Los Angeles. Reports from the Sheriff’s Office allege that the charges stem from an ongoing course of sexual conduct involving Bonilla and the victim from 2007 until 2010.  The U.S. Marshals in Pensacola contacted the Task Force in Los Angeles last Friday and provided them with the information they needed to arrest Bonilla.

The Task Force in Pensacola caught up with a Michigan fugitive today after a couple days of surveillance. Donta Vonshae Sullivan, 28, is wanted by the Michigan Department of Corrections for Home Invasion Robbery with a Gun, Parole Violation and Dangerous Drugs.  Investigators from the Michigan DOC contacted the Pensacola Task Force yesterday and provided the information to help locate Sullivan. This afternoon Marshals and task force members from Escambia and Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office and Officers from Pensacola Police Department stopped a van that Sullivan was traveling in that had just left a funeral in Pensacola. At about 3:15 p.m. they arrested Sullivan without incident at the intersection of Texar Drive and Davis Highway.  Sullivan also has an outstanding warrant from Escambia County from 2002 on a misdemeanor charge of Driving While license Suspended.

Bonilla is in the Lancaster Sheriff’s Detention Center until he is extradited back to Escambia and Sullivan will remain here in the Escambia Jail until he is picked up by authorities from Michigan.
