Suspect in Over-the Rhine Deadly Shooting Arrested

Cincinnati, OH – This afternoon, a 17 year old homicide suspect was arrested by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST). The teenage suspect was wanted for the fatal shooting of 22 year old Derrick Martin last night. The victim was shot to death late last night on Goose Alley in Cincinnati’s Over-The-Rhine neighborhood. Interim U.S. Marshal Cathy Jones stated, “Once again SOFAST has taken a dangerous fugitive off the streets of our community. Through cooperation among our law enforcement partners, SOFAST will continue to target the most violent offenders in an ongoing effort to safeguard our neighborhoods”.

On 06/18/2010, SOFAST and the Cincinnati Police’s District 3 officers developed information the teenage suspect was in the West Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Task Force Officers and Cincinnati Police’s District 3 officers located the teenage suspect in a residence on Rutledge Avenue, near Rapid Run Park. The teenage suspect was arrested without incident.

SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of the U.S. Marshals, Cincinnati Police Department, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, U.S. Department of Agriculture OIG, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Sharonville Police Department, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
