Austin Sex Assault Suspect Nabbed in Mexico

LSFTF LogoAustin, TX – Clayton Douglas Shoemate, 38, of Austin was arrested last night in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico by Immigration authorities. Shoemate was quickly deported for violating the immigration laws of the Republic of Mexico. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force met Shoemate at the Port of Entry in Eagle Pass, Texas and was arrested for an outstanding January 2008 charge arising from the Austin Police Department alleging Shoemate was involved in sexual assaults against a child. Shoemate was remanded to the custody of the Maverick County Detention Center in Eagle Pass pending his return to Travis County.
