U.S. Marshals Arrest 'America's Most Wanted' Fugitive James Francis
July 01, 2009 - On June 30th members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in Houston arrested sixty year old James Francis at the Best Classic Suites in North Houston. Francis was Wanted by the Lafayette Police Department for 2nd Degree Murder.

U.S. Marshals Capture 2nd Federal Escapee from Lewisburg, PA
July 01, 2009 - Almost one year after escaping from federal custody, U.S. Marshals have arrested the lone remaining escapee who fled from Bureau of Prisons’ custody in July 2008. United States Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that Derrick Wilson was taken into custody by USMS personnel in Atlanta, GA. He was wanted for his July 20, 2008 escape from the Federal Prison Camp on the grounds of the United States Penitentiary at Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

‘America’s Most Wanted’ Captured by U.S. Marshals
June 30, 2009 - Investigators from the United States Marshals Service’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from officers of the Atlanta Police Department, arrested AMW fugitive Jonathan “Q-Genius” Quaweay at an apartment complex in Atlanta, GA.

Parental Kidnapper Apprehended
June 30, 2009 - A child who was abducted by his father was rescued by U.S. Marshals, Delaware State Police and Mount Laurel, NJ police. This kidnapping triggered an amber alert for much of Saturday. Zion Duprey, 5 was found at the Westin Hotel in Mount Laurel, NJ early Tuesday morning. Zion Duprey was abducted by his father, Angel Duprey, on Saturday, June 27 from his home in Lincoln, Delaware.

St. Mary Parish Kidnapper Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Miami
June 26, 2009 - On June 25th U.S. Marshals arrested twenty-five-year-old Jose Santos in Miami nearly one week after Santos allegedly kidnapped his fifteen-year-old girlfriend. St. Mary filed charges against Santos on Tuesday, June 23rd for Aggravated Kidnapping.

U.S. Marshals Capture Two Shooting Suspects
June 25, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 26 year-old Fonta Whipple and 25 year-old Jashawn Clark at a Holiday Inn in Covington, Kentucky. Whipple and Clark are accused of critically injuring Derryan Holland by shooting him multiple times with an AK-47 rifle in Lockland, Ohio on June 22, 2009.

Tips Lead to Capture of Escaped Sex Offender and Safe Recovery of Missing Child
June 24, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announces the capture of fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27, along with the capture of associate Candace Watson, 24, and the safe recovery of 4 year old missing child Haylee Donathan. Yesterday, a tip was received by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, who then quickly responded to a Christian retreat center in Valley Center, Calif., where they were able to apprehend Potter and Watson and safely recover little Haylee without incident.

U.S. Marshals Capture Alleged Kidnapper Sought by Berwick Authorities
June 22, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested John William Bennett in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Bennett was being sought for his role in a 10 day crime spree in Berwick, Pennsylvania during April and May 2009. Bennett was being sought on three separate arrest warrants signed by Magisterial District Judge Richard P. Cashman in Berwick, Pennsylvania.

U.S. Marshals Capture Female Most Wanted Suspect in Southern California
June 20, 2009 - After an exhaustive search, members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force and investigators from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Lisa Monica Gonzalez, AKA Monica Torres, who was on the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Gonzalez was wanted for two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in Oklahoma. Gonzalez was arrested today in Bellflower after giving a false name.

Robbery Suspect Arrested Hiding in Attic of Apartment Complex
June 17, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team/Cincinnati SWAT arrested Alfonzo Stevenson in Cincinnati, Ohio. Stevenson was sought by the Cincinnati Police Department for 6 Felony charges and some other miscellaneous charges. Those charges included Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Theft, Harassment, Weapons under Disability, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Retaliation against a Witness.

St. Mary / Iberia Fugitive Arrested in Sacramento
June 17, 2009 - Twenty-One year old Jacolby Westley from Jeanerette was arrested yesterday evening by the U.S. Marshals in Sacramento, CA. Westley was Wanted by St. Mary Parish for a numerous charges including: Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Battery, and Illegal Discharging of a Firearm. Further, Iberia Parish has an active Warrant against Westley for Armed Robbery with a Firearm.

U.S. Marshals Chief Deputy Honored at 2009 Women in Federal Law Enforcement Awards
June 17, 2009 - Karen Simons, Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Illinois, received a Distinguished Honorable Mention today as a nominee for the 2009 Women in Federal Law Enforcement Award. Chief Deputy Simons was nominated for her superior level of performance and as a role model for other women in law enforcement.

U.S. Marshals Service Task Forces Arrest Fugitives in Texas and Colorado
June 16,2009 - Tomas Cordero aka Tomas Alcoser was arrested by officers of the U.S. Marshals Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team today. Cordero was wanted out of the 114th District Court in Smith County Texas on a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The warrant was issued July 16th 2008 pursuant to an indictment.

June 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is now confirming the suspected truck in the case of fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27, was captured on a surveillance camera at an Ampride gas station in Stratton, Colorado on June 2. This is the last confirmed sighting of the truck since it was previously seen at a Wal-Mart in Marion, Ohio on May 31. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend, Candace Watson, 24, and her 3-year-old daughter, Haylee Elizabeth Jade Donathan.

New Mexico Fugitive Arrested in Longview
June 15, 2009 - Azarias Anthony Austin was arrested by officers of the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force in Longview, TX. Austin was wanted by the Albuquerque New Mexico Police Department on arrest warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Firearm), Assault with Intent to Commit a Violent Felony, Robbery, Tampering with Evidence and Conspiracy.

U.S. Marshals Lead Nationwide Manhunt for Fugitive Sex Offender Who Disappeared With Missing Toddler
June 11, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is on the hunt for fugitive Robbie Douglas Potter, 27. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend and her 3-year-old daughter. Potter is wanted on a state warrant for parole violation and on a federal warrant for probation violation.

Major Fugitive Arrested
June 10, 2009 - Members of the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and the Dearborn Police Department arrested homicide suspect Adnan Almayahi in Detroit, MI. Almayahi is suspected of murdering his girlfriend, Tiffany Nicole Williams, in Jacksonville, FL.

U.S. Marshals Task Force Finds More Than Fugitive During Arrest
June 09, 2009 - Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath and U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announce the arrest of violent fugitive Khalid K. Swanson. Swanson, age 34, was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant dated April 30, 2009, charging him with robbery, kidnapping, having weapons under disability, trafficking drugs, drug possession and possession of criminal tools.

U.S. Marshals Psychologist Receives Award for Work in Child Protection
June 03, 2009 - Dr. Michael Bourke, Chief Psychologist for the U.S. Marshals Service Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), received an award from the United Kingdom’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) in London on May 20, 2009. Dr. Bourke and his colleague, Dr. Andres Hernandez, were recognized for their “outstanding example of research into the behaviors of child sexual offenders.”

U.S. Marshals Task Force Captures Murder Suspect in Blue Angel Lane Shooting
June 02, 2009 - Working on information developed from Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigators, the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force captured Wendell Ray Hurley who is wanted for the murder of Timothy Thames of Blue Angel Lane.

June 02, 2009 - After a week on the run, U.S. Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force members arrested twenty five year old Rufus L. Lee of Perry, Florida for the offenses of 1st Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, and Armed Robbery.

U.S. Marshals Add Memphis Murder Suspect to 15 Most Wanted Fugitive List
May 29, 2009 - 15 Most Wanted Addition - The U.S. Marshals Service announced today the addition of a Memphis man, who is wanted in Tennessee for first-degree murder and criminal attempt first-degree murder, to its list of 15 Most Wanted fugitives. Robert Lee King, 45, allegedly murdered his girlfriend and attempted to murder her 20-year-old daughter.

Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force Arrests Sex Offender
May 14, 2009 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force had an early morning start after traveling from Tallahassee, FL to Eastpoint, FL in search of Anthony Joseph Erario. Erario was wanted by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in Florida for the offense of Capital Sexual Battery on a Child under the Age of 12. Task Force members located the 63 year old Erario at a residence in Franklin County where he was arrested by task force members without incident.

Fugitive Posing as U.S. Marshal - Arrested by U.S. Marshals
May 14, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service is pleased to announce that fugitive John Baldasaro was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in New York City. Baldasaro was located in Manhattan, NY and arrested on numerous outstanding warrants from throughout New England. The investigation by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force started after being contacted by the Chesterfield (NH) Police Department. The Chesterfield Police Department stated that someone had impersonated a U.S. Marshal to kidnap and rob multiple victims. This suspect was later identified as John Baldasaro.

New York Murder Suspect Arrested in Roanoke
May 14, 2009 - A man wanted by NYPD for homicide was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force based in Roanoke and the Roanoke Police Department. Hector Barrington-Stephenson, 29, from Bronx, New York, was arrested without incident in Roanoke. Barrington-Stephenson was wanted by NYPD on outstanding warrants for homicide, criminal possession of a firearm, drug distribution and felony assault from another alleged shooting incident in New York.

U.S. Marshals Arrest Level III Sex Offender in Mesa
May 13, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Marshals led-Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) arrested Christopher Lyons, 46, in the area of Country Club and Juanita Ave in Mesa. Lyons was wanted by the Arizona Department of Corrections for violating the conditions of his parole, after having been convicted of failing to register as a Sex Offender.

Fugitive Murderer Caught in Cincinnati, Ohio
May 13, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 32 year-old Courtney Givan in Cincinnati, Ohio. Givan is accused of shooting Jervarion Wright at an apartment complex in Montgomery, Alabama on May 09, 2009. Givan has a lengthy criminal record that includes felony assaults and robberies.

Austin Sex Offender Nabbed in Michigan after 3-Story Leap
May 11, 2009 - Clifford Bart Dunbar, 48, of Austin was arrested over the weekend without incident by the U.S. Marshals in Grand Rapids, Mich. after Dunbar attempted to evade arrest by jumping out of a 3rd floor apartment window. A joint investigation by the Austin Police Department and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force determined Dunbar was under investigation by Austin Police Department for his alleged involvement in a recent sexual assault. Dunbar was additionally sought by authorities for allegedly violating his Texas parole last month.

Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested in North Carolina
May 08, 2009 - A man wanted by Bedford County authorities for the attempted murder of a Bedford City Police officer was arrested this afternoon in Fayetteville, NC. Brian Aubrey Burnette, 31, was charged by the Bedford City Police on April 17 with the attempted capital murder of a detective who was attempting to arrest him on outstanding felony warrants. Burnette allegedly stuck the officer with his vehicle while fleeing.

May 1, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Georgia Homicide Suspect Jerry Robert Hobbs. In 1989 it is believed that Hobbs former girlfriend, Dianne Quinsenberry was removed from a Battered Women’s Shelter in Cairo, Ga. It is alleged that Quinsenberry was beaten to death although her body has never been recovered. Recently Investigator’s with the Thomas County Georgia Sheriff’s Office developed evidence that caused a warrant to be issued for Hobbs.

May 1, 2009 - Investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force arrested Christopher Rogers, 19, at an apartment complex in Baton Rouge this morning. Rogers was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for his role in several violent robberies. Rogers was wanted in Ascension Parish for five counts of attempted First Degree Murder, six counts of Armed Robbery, six counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property stemming from multiple incidents that took place in March. Additionally, Rogers is alleged to have committed attempted Second Degree Murder on February 2, 2009 when he shot at a victim several times in Baton Rouge.

Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program Graduation
April 24, 2009 - On Monday, April 27th, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. the United States Marshals Service Gang Resistance and Education Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program will hold a graduation for two sixth grade classes of forty seven students. The graduation will take place at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Charter School for Science and Technology, located at 1617 Caffin Avenue New Orleans, Louisiana. The attending students successfully completed a thirteen lesson G.R.E.A.T. curriculum instructed by Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Florida Murder Suspect Arrested in Martinsville
April 24, 2009 - A man wanted for murder in Palm Beach County, Florida was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) based in Roanoke and the Martinsville Police Department yesterday evening. Michael S. Marquardt, age 38, formerly of Boynton Beach was wanted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for First Degree Murder with a Firearm, Armed Robbery and Accessory After the Fact.

Donna Hanna Arrested in Family Abduction Case Following Exhaustive Law Enforcement Efforts
April 22, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office announce the arrest of Donna Wilson Hanna, age 47. Hanna was arrested on federal charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution, which is directly associated with Hanna’s State charges of Interference with Custody, a class D Felony in Arkansas. At the time of arrest, Hanna’s daughter was placed in the custody of a court appointed attorney. Hanna had been on the run since March 29, 2009, when she fled Arkansas with her daughter.

Probation Violator Arrested After Eluding Authorities
April 21, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, Western Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jason Foerster, age 34. On April 20, 2009, Investigators with the Task Force received a tip indicating Foerster, who was wanted for a Federal Parole Violation resulting in a recent arrest by the Fort Smith Police Department. On March 14, 2009 Foerster was arrested by the Fort Smith Police Department and charged with Robbery, Fleeing, Loitering and Carrying a Weapon.

Murder Suspect in DeFuniak Springs Shooting Captured by U.S. Marshals Task Force in Tampa
April 21, 2009 - Thomas Ford McCoy wanted in connection for the murder of a DeFuniak Springs man less than two weeks ago was apprehended earlier today by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force when he was shot by a Deputy after McCoy pulled a gun on task force officers.
