ACRONYM: TF ORIGINATOR:
ABSTRACT: Individual training files contain information on the individual's educational background, employee training history, and career development plan. Skills files identify languages and other special skills possessed by the employee, and FIT Program files consist of records on physical and medical examinations, blood tests, health histories, physical assessments, goal setting and progress while in the program. PURPOSE: Training files are used to make employment, promotion, or retention determinations for all Deputy U.S. Marshals, to develop training histories, and to determine training and/or promotion eligibility, to tailor an individual fitness program for each employee, to chart employee progress, to identify special skills, and aid in staffing special assignments which require special skills. ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: Records are protected from unauthorized access through appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. These safeguards include restricting access to those with a need to know to perform their official duties, using locks and passwords, and user identification numbers. USE CONSTRAINTS: Users of training files are restricted to only those privileges necessary to perform assigned tasks. AGENCY PROGRAM: These files support training programs established to ensure that USMS employees develop and/or maintain skills and competencies required to perform official duties. SOURCES OF DATA: Information contained in this system is collected from the individual,
training personnel, the Combined Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy, examining
physicians, fitness coordinators, and personnel records.
