Steven O’Donnell, U.S. Marshal for the District of Rhode Island

Sworn-in on November 5, 2009

Steven O’Donnell, 49, a Lieutenant Colonel and the Deputy Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police. He joined the State Police in 1986 and has risen through the ranks to his current rank and position.  Lt.Col. O’Donnell was a patrolman with the North Kingstown, Rhode Island, Police Department from 1984-1986, and was a Correctional Officer with the Rhode Island Department of Corrections from 1983-1984.  He was awarded a master’s degree from Salve Regina University in 1993 and a bachelor of science degree from the University of New Haven, Connecticut in 1983.
