Spooner to be U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Florida Edward Spooner, a life-long Florida resident, began his law enforcement career as an intern with the Florida Highway Patrol in 1973. He moved onto the Tallahassee Police Department, where he worked until 1977. Spooner then became a law enforcement instructor, and in 1979 was named the Director of Public Safety for Quincy, Florida, a position he held until 1991. Throughout his law enforcement career, Spooner has served: on the Florida Parole Commission, as Chief Deputy of the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, and as Sheriff of Okaloosa County. He has most recently been employed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement where he served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge. |
