Suspect Captured in Winston-Salem, NC by U.S. Marshals

Winston-Salem, NC – On June 5, 2014 at 2:55 PM, Sedrick Raheem Belk, a 20 year old, Black Male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) with the assistance of the Winston-Salem Police Department K-9 Unit. Belk was wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for Drug Conspiracy and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime as well by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle.

The JFTF had been looking for Belk since January 2014 after warrants were issued for his alleged involvement in a 2013 accident that claimed the life of a two year old child and injuring three others. The ATF warrants were unrelated to the traffic accident.

Members of the JFTF developed information leading to an associate of Belk’s, living in the Salem Gardens Community in Winston-Salem. Investigators conducted surveillance for approximately two hours and were able to positively identify Belk. Belk was approached and taken into custody without incident. Belk was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center and held without bond pending his initial appearance in federal court tomorrow, June 6, 2014.
