Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested in High Point, North Carolina by U.S. Marshals

High Point, NC – This morning at 11:00 AM, Dorian Dent Williams, a 22 year old, Black Male, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and High Point Police Department. Williams had warrants for three counts of Attempt First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill, Assault with a deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and Possession of a Firearm by Felon. On March 11, 2014, Williams allegedly discharged a firearm into a group of people who were walking on the sidewalk as Williams drove by in a vehicle. As a result of the shooting, one of the victims sustained a non-life threatening wound.

Members of the JFTF conducted surveillance at a business located in the 100 block of West Ward Avenue. Investigators observed Williams leaving the business and get into a vehicle with another individual. A vehicle takedown was performed at a nearby intersection and Williams was placed into custody. Williams was turned over to the High Point Police Officers who responded to the scene.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
