Sex Offender Arrested

Albuquerque, NM - The United States Marshals Service in New Mexico arrested Gino Molina in Northwest Albuquerque, NM yesterday. Molina was wanted on charges of failure to register as a sex offender in Cibola County.

Molina was convicted of criminal sexual penetration in 1997. Molina has been wanted since September of 2013, and the United States Marshals Service received began investigating Molina’s whereabouts in late January of 2014. Molina quickly began the Marshals Service’s top priority. Investigators were able to establish information Molina was hiding in Albuquerque, and on February 13, 2014 members of the United States Marshals Service Southwest Investigative team (SWIFT) task force spotted Molina near Central Avenue in Northwest Albuquerque and were able to arrest Molina Without incident.

All sex offender investigations in the District of New Mexico are facilitated by the Districts Sex Offender Investigations Coordinator (SOIC). The Sex Offender Investigations Coordinator (SOIC) is the Point of Contact (POC) for non-compliant sex offender related issues within the District. The SOIC works closely with local, state, tribal and territorial authorities in the location and apprehension of non-compliant sex offenders. The SOIC investigates violations of 18 U.S.C 2250 (Failure to Register) and assists with identification of sex offenders relocated as a result of a major disaster. The SOIC responds to requests for assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A common theme that leads to the successful apprehension of dangerous and violent fugitives is due to the effective partnerships which emphasizes effective intelligence gathering and sharing, which is evident in this latest arrest”.
