U.S. Marshals Arrest Alleged Sex Offender in York County

Harrisburg, PA – Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced that the United States Marshals Service arrested Michael Ray Lobato, a 44-year old man, in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania.

In early 2012 through April of 2013, it is alleged that Lobato committed sexual offenses against two minors under the age of 13 in North Codorus Township, York County. On August 28, 2013, an arrest warrant was issued in York County, charging Lobato with Aggravated Indecent Assault- less than 13 years of age.

The Southwestern Regional Police in York County requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Information was developed on the possible whereabouts of Lobato in the Spring Grove area.

During the morning hours of August 30, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Lobato in the 1800 block of Pin Oak Drive in Spring Grove. He was taken into custody without incident. Lobato was turned over to York County Central Booking for processing. Bail was set at ten-thousand dollars.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “It is vitally important that the U.S. Marshals Service arrest fugitives wanted for crimes against children. Victims of these types of crimes must be ensured justice. This arrest reflects the agency’s commitment to making our communities more safe and secure.”

U.S. Marshals were assisted in this investigation by personnel from the Pennsylvania State Police, York County Sheriff’s Office, York City Police Department, York County District Attorney’s Office, and the Northern York Area Regional Police Department. These agencies are participating members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

The concept of all USMS-led fugitive task forces is to seek out and arrest the nation’s most dangerous offenders.
