Fugitive Arrested On Allegations of Capital Murder

LSFTF LogoSan Antonio, TX – Devin Donell Fields, 25, was arrested this afternoon by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in San Antonio. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), where it is alleged that Fields committed capital murder.

Earlier this week, the LSFTF was contacted by the SAPD for assistance in locating and apprehending Fields. This afternoon, task force officers, through investigative efforts, determined that Fields was hiding out at a residence in the 3100 block of Versailles Road. While conducting surveillance, task force officers observed Fields leaving the residence in a vehicle. When task force officers pursued the vehicle, Fields attempted to elude capture and crashed into a fence. Task force officers removed Fields from the vehicle and immediately took him into custody.

Fields will be held in custody at the Bexar County Jail.

On July 4, 2013, Fields was allegedly involved in a shooting that resulted in the death of Baby Girl Harrison, 19. The shooting took place at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of East Houston Street and was allegedly the result of an altercation between Fields and Harrison's boyfriend. Fields, a member of the East Terrace Gangsters (ETG) Crips gang, was labeled as the primary suspect in the shooting and is currently being charged with capital murder, because Harrison was pregnant at the time of her death.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “Words alone cannot express the emotion I feel for the parents who not only lost their daughter, but also their grandchild. Senseless crimes like these are the reasons why we work so hard, so diligently, and with a purpose to capture fugitives and to put them behind bars.”
