McAllen, TX – A Donna man wanted for Aggravated
Robbery was arrested today by the United States Marshals Service-multi agency
led Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force (GCVOFTF).
Roberto Vasquez, 46, was wanted by the McAllen Police Department for allegedly
holding up the employees of the Gold Buyers establishment at gun point. Vasquez
stole over $1,000 dollars from the business at the time of the robbery. Vasquez
went into hiding after he learned that a warrant of arrest was issued against
U.S. Marshals Service Investigators and members of the GCVOFTF developed
information that Vasquez was staying with his ex-wife in Donna, Texas. Members
of the GCVOFTF arrived at a house near the 7100 block of Goolie Road, and
discovered Vasquez hiding a bedroom closet. Members of the GCVOFTF arrested
Vasquez without incident. Vasquez is currently being held at the McAllen Police
Department pending the outcome of his case.
The GCVOFTF is a team comprised of law enforcement officers from the U.S.
Marshals Service, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Starr County Sheriff’s
Office, McAllen P.D., Mission P.D. San Juan P.D., Weslaco P.D., TDCJ Office of
Inspector General, Texas Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco
& Firearms and Homeland Security Investigations.
