San
Antonio,
TX – Lisa Guerra-Romo, 34, was arrested this
afternoon by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in San Antonio without
incident. Arrest warrants were sought by the San Antonio Police Department,
Family Violence Unit, where it is alleged that Guerra-Romo committed
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangerment to a child.
Earlier this week, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force was contacted by the
San Antonio Police Department for assistance in locating and apprehending
Guerra-Romo. Task force officers determined that Guerra-Romo was hiding out
with an associate in a house located in the 9600 block of Dover Ridge. Task
force officers initiated surveillance and subsequently observed the home
owner departing the residence. Task force officers made contact with the
home owner and confirmed that Guerra-Romo was inside the residence. Task
force officers entered the residence and Guerra-Romo was immediately
arrested.
Guerra-Romo is currently being held in Bexar County Jail awaiting appearance
before the Magistrate Judge.
Last Saturday evening, Guerra-Romo and her husband were involved in a verbal
argument that turned violent. Guerra-Romo allegedly retrieved a gun and
fired several shots at her husband while he was holding their young child in
his arms. Guerra-Romo fled on foot before police could arrive. Despite
multiple shots being fired, the husband was only struck once in the leg, but
the child was unharmed. Guerra-Romo was a fugitive until she was apprehended
this afternoon.
Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas,
states, “These are sad times when someone commits such a heinous crime that
could have resulted in the loss of a husband and a child. I’m proud of our
task force officers who worked diligently to take another violent offender
off the streets.”
