Lafayette, LA – Last night at around midnight, the
U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force with critical assistance from the
Houma Police Department, Thibodeaux Police Department, and Terrebonne Parish
Sheriff’s Office arrested twenty-one year old Christopher Wilson. Wilson was
Wanted by the Lafayette Police Department for Attempted First Degree Murder.
These charges stem from a July 2nd “Shooting in Progress” call in which the
victim was shot in the midsection. The Lafayette Police Department requested
assistance from the US Marshals on November 1st (the warrant was signed
November 2nd). Yesterday evening a team of six task force officers from the
US Marshals Violent Offender Task Force traveled to Houma and after
approximately seven hours of investigating located Wilson at 210 Columbus
Street, Houma, LA. The arrest occurred without incident as Wilson was asleep
when we located him. Wilson was booked at the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s
Office and is awaiting extradition back to Lafayette. Additional information about the U.S. Marshals Service can be found at http://www.usmarshals.gov. #### America’s Oldest Federal Law Enforcement Agency |
