San
Antonio, TX – The Texas Regional Advisory Board of the National Center
for Missing and Exploited Children, sponsored their annual gala Saturday
evening at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Austin, TX. Nicholas Rose, Deputy U.S.
Marshal for the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, San Antonio Division, was the
recipient of the 2012 Texas Children’s Hero Award.
During the Texas Heroes for Children Gala, the Hero Award is presented to a
law enforcement officer who has “demonstrated exemplary service in
protecting a child from harm”. Selection for this prestigious award was
considered among 11 nominees submitted by agencies throughout the state of
Texas. Deputy Rose’s efforts in investigating and arresting sex offenders
under the Adam Walsh Act were recognized in the receiving of this award.
Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas,
states, “It is with great pleasure to honor Deputy U.S. Marshal Nicholas
Rose with an award deserving to a law enforcement officer who displays a
tireless dedication to duty in the protection of our most valuable resource
– our children.”
