WHAT: Media outlets and personnel are invited to a celebration of the history of the U.S. Marshals Service and how it has impacted our community in a positive way. Operation Intercept, the U.S. Marshal led fugitive task force for South Carolina, will be highlighted, as well as some of its fugitive and sex offender arrests.

Among their many duties, the nearly 4,000 Deputy U.S. Marshals across the nation protect the federal judiciary, apprehend federal fugitives, seize property acquired by criminals through illegal activities, house and transport federal prisoners, and operate the Witness Security Program.
