Wanted for Indecency with a Child

LSFTF LogoEl Paso, TX – Today the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Juan Pedro Solis, 21, at the Paso Del Norte Port of Entry. Task force members had been communicating with him while he was in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and were able to convince him to surrender himself at the port of entry. Solis was wanted for indecency with a child, possession of cocaine and driving while intoxicated. He had been added to the El Paso Crime Stoppers list of most wanted fugitives in April, 2012. Solis was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility pending trial and is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.

Solis was wanted by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department. The U.S. Marshals Service and its Lone Star Fugitive Task Force work closely with state and local authorities to focus efforts on sex offenders. Since the federal Adam Walsh Act was passed in 2006, the agency has had the responsibility for tracking down and arresting offenders under the act. Additionally, the agency assists local agencies by providing the resources necessary to get these predators off the street.

Robert Almonte, the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas, said “we are proud to have a close working relationship with our state and local partners. This relationship is a force multiplier against those who would hurt the most vulnerable among us”.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is composed of officers from the El Paso Police Department, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department, the District Attorney’s Office, the Texas Office of the Inspector General, the Department of Public Safety, Homeland Security Investigations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the U.S. Marshals Service.
