Albuquerque, NM – On Friday, January 6, 2012,
the United States Marshals Service fugitive task force took 3 sex offenders into
custody in Albuquerque, NM. The Marshals Service developed information into the
3 fugitives and their whereabouts in Albuquerque. Friday morning, Deputy
Marshals arrested the first fugitive Richard McCarty(54) in the North Valley, in
the afternoon Vincent Eddleston(34) was arrested on I-40 just outside of
Edgewood, NM , and in the evening, Jeremy Jaramillo(35) was arrested in a hotel
near Eubank in North East Albuquerque.
Vincent Eddleston had a warrant for his arrest charging him with Sexual Assault
out of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Eddleston was also the suspect in a Child Abduction
of a 9 year old girl. Deputies developed information that Eddleston would be
driving through Albuquerque and set up along I-40 east bound starting at Atriso
Vista SW. Law Enforcement Officers from the Marshals Service South West
Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) task force lined the freeway looking for one
of Eddleston’s four vehicles he would possibly be driving. The vehicle was
observed coming into Albuquerque and Deputies made the decision to stop the
vehicle in the East Mountains for the safety of all involved. The 9 year old
girl was with Eddleston and she was rescued, Eddleston was taken into custody
and booked into the Torrance County Detention Center where he awaits extradition
back to Wisconsin.
Jeremy Jaramillo was charged with multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration
and Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor under 13 years of Age and Kidnapping in
the first degree. Jaramillo has been a fugitive of justice since November 22,
2011. Jaramillo was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.
McCarty, was booked on warrants charging him with Criminal Sexual Penetration
and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. McCarty, is a known Sex Offender
stemming from charges in Texas. As Deputy Marshals were taking McCarty into
custody they found a female hiding in the closet. The female was identified as
Crystal Lester(30). Lester had a warrant for Felony Larceny and was also
arrested and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center along with McCarty.

Marshals Service for the District of New Mexico relentlessly and exhaustively
pursues sexual predators and within a few hours three dangerous fugitives were
apprehended and as a result many communities within New Mexico are safer for our
children; a testament to the many successful arrests by the Marshals Service is
the positive relationship with local, county, state, and federal law enforcement
agencies”.
