Williamsport, PA – United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced today that
the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested Izone Jackson in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.
Jackson was being sought on an arrest warrant, dated August 22, 2011 and signed
by Magisterial District Judge C. Roger McRae in Muncy, Pennsylvania.
During July 2011, the Williamsport Bureau of Police conducted an investigation
into the alleged drug trafficking activities of Izone Jackson. As a result, an
arrest warrant was issued against Jackson, charging him with the following
offenses:
- 4 counts of Manufacture, Delivery or Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack
Cocaine
- 2 counts of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility
On August 31, local authorities requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals
Service to locate and apprehend Jenkins. This case was adopted by the U.S.
Marshals Service’s Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Jackson has a violent criminal history, to include prior arrests for murder,
possession of firearms, aggravated assault, and narcotics violations.
U.S. Marshals based in Williamsport investigated leads on the Jackson’s
whereabouts in Williamsport. Recently, U.S. Marshals developed information the
fugitive may be hiding in Philadelphia.
During the early morning hours of November 1, U.S. Marshals and members of the
USMS Eastern District of Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Jackson
in the 5800 block of Florence Avenue in Philadelphia. The fugitive was arrested
without incident.
Jackson, 39 years of age, will be returned to Williamsport for court hearings on
the local charges.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service is
committed to ridding our communities of fugitives, especially those like Jackson
with a violent criminal history. We will continue to assist our Law Enforcement
partners to ensure they are brought to justice.”
U.S. Marshals were assisted by officers from the Lycoming County Sheriff’s
Office, a participating agency in the M/PA Fugitive Task Force. The Williamsport
Bureau of Police provided assistance during the fugitive investigation.
The capture of Jackson demonstrates the effectiveness of U.S. Marshals Service
personnel in locating and arresting fugitives in a timely fashion. The concept
of all USMS-led fugitive task forces is to seek out and arrest the nation’s most
dangerous and violent offenders.
