San Antonio, TX – The Hondo Police Department and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF), arrested Leonardo Rivas, a suspect in the fatal shooting of Felix Flores and the wounding of another in the 600 Block of S. Trinity Avenue in San Antonio this morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. without incident.

Leonardo Rivas and his brother Michael Anthony Rivas were identified as suspects in an October 15, 2011, altercation in Hondo resulting in a shooting that left one man dead and another man severely injured. Task Force Officers developed information leading them to a San Antonio address where Leonardo Rivas was found inside the home.

Michael Anthony Rivas is currently sought by the Task Force as his current whereabouts are unknown. Rivas is considered armed and dangerous and we encourage the public to contact law enforcement and not to approach Rivas.

Robert R. Almonte, United State Marshal for the Western District of Texas states, “This arrest signifies the quick action of all agencies working together. This Task Force will continue to pursue Michael Anthony Rivas and hold him accountable for his actions.”

Agencies participating in the arrest were the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Comal County Sheriff’s Office, San Antonio Police Department, Texas Attorney General’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Criminal Justice – OIG, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
