| Meagan's Law Awareness at the Big Fresno Fair |
|
From October 5, 2011 through October 7, 2011, the
United States Marshals Service in the Eastern District of California, Fresno
partnered with the Fresno Police Department at the Big Fresno Fair in order to
enhance awareness of the Meagan’s Law Website. Deputies and detectives
interacted with the community by distributing pamphlets, pencils, badges, and
stickers. Parents were encouraged to access the Meagan’s Law website to
determine if registered sex offenders are living in their neighborhood. The
pamphlets also provided law enforcement contact information in order to report
sex offenders to authorities. Parents were very receptive to the information
being disseminated and were appreciative of the law enforcement presence at the
Big Fresno Fair. Additional information about the U.S. Marshals Service can be found at http://www.usmarshals.gov. ####
