Harrisburg, PA – Acting U.S. Marshal
Martin J. Pane announced today that the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force
arrested Jeffrey McGough, Jr. in Greencastle.
McGough - a 29-year old man formerly from Schenectady, New York - had been
sought on multiple warrants since September 2010. In September 2010, an
Indictment was issued by a federal grand jury in the Northern District of New
York, charging McGough with possession with intent to distribute a controlled
substance, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and use of
communication facility during the commission of a felony. In October 2010, the
New York Division of Parole also issued a warrant for Parole Violation.
Through their investigation, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force developed
information that McGough was staying with a friend in Greencastle, PA. On
September 22, U.S. Marshals, members of its Fugitive Task, along with officers
from the Pennsylvania State Police, Greencastle Police Department and the
Franklin County Sheriffs Office went to the friend’s apartment in the 600 block
of Victoria Drive, Greencastle. During a search of the apartment, McGough was
found hiding under insulation in the attic. Several marijuana plants were also
recovered during the search.
McGough, is scheduled to have an initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate
Judge in Harrisburg at 4:00 pm Thursday.
U.S. Marshals were assisted by several agencies that comprise its Fugitive Task
Force. This included officers from the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and
Parole and the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office.
