U.S. Marshals, State, and County Conduct Sex Offender Compliance Check in
Barron, Sawyer, and Rusk Counties

Barron County, WI – The U.S. Marshals along with Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry Program, and the Barron, Sawyer, and Rusk County Sheriff’s Departments conducted a residence verification operation for registered sex offenders in these three counties. On June 28th and 29th deputies checked the addresses of 118 registered sex offenders. Two were found to be non compliant. The Sex Offender Registry Program Specialist will investigate the non-compliant sex offenders and make a recommendation to the district attorney.

The initiative is part of the working relationship between the U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Investigations Branch and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registration Program which monitors all 21,645 Wisconsin Sex Offenders.
