Violent Fugitive Arrested After Less Than 24 hours on New Mexico’s Wanted List

Las Cruces, NM- The United States Marshals Service arrested Jesus Loya in the early evening of May 19, 2011.  Loya was wanted out of Dona Ana County for  Kidnapping (2nd Degree), Criminal Sexual Penetration (2nd Degree), Aggravated Battery against Household Member, Aggravated Assault against Household Member, Bribery or Intimidation of a Witness, and Misdemeanor Battery on a Household Member.  Loya is a confirmed Sureño 13 gang member with an extensive criminal record and was added to the New Mexico Most Wanted list as a Most Wanted Gang Offender only hours before his arrest. 

Investigators developed information that lead them to a house in Vado, NM.  Deputy U.S. Marshals made contact with the occupants of the residence and learned, Loya was on foot in the Vado area looking for a job.  Deputy Marshals saturated the area and located Loya in the desert attempting to dig out a stuck vehic was placed under arrest and transported back to Dona Ana County Detention Center in Las Cruces, NM.
