Columbus, OH – U.S. Marshal Cathy Jones of the Southern District of Ohio announces the arrest of Ryan Hubbard, 32, of Miramar, Florida. Hubbard was wanted by the Bal Harbour, Florida Police Department for his alleged involvement in the attempted murder of two patrons of Carpaccio’s Restaurant that occurred in the affluent community of Bal Harbour, Florida on March 22, 2011. 

On March 25, 2011, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) was called upon by the Bal Harbour, Florida Police Department to assist in the apprehension of Hubbard. SOFAST received information that Hubbard fled to the Columbus, Ohio suburb of Dublin. SOFAST proceeded to the 8000 block of Avery Road in Dublin, where SOFAST officers observed Hubbard inside a home. Hubbard did not answer the door when SOFAST officers announced their presence so officers forced entry into the home. Hubbard then surrendered and was arrested without incident. Hubbard will await extradition back to Florida where he will face charges of two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder.

Hubbard has previous convictions for Aggravated Battery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Armed Trafficking in Cocaine for which he is presently on probation.

Marshal Jones stated, “The cooperation of law enforcement from Dublin, Ohio and Bal Harbour, Florida greatly assisted the U.S. Marshal’s Service in capturing this extremely dangerous fugitive. The diligence and swift action of all officers involved has brought this alleged attempted murderer to justice.”

Columbus SOFAST is a fugitive focused, United States Marshals Service led task force consisting of local, state, and federal authorities including the Franklin County Sheriffs, Delaware County Sheriffs, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Columbus Police Department, Columbus Division of Fire, Worthington Police Department, Reynoldsburg Police Department, South Bloomfield Police Department, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, Grove City Police Department, United States Department of Agriculture, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the United States Attorney’s Office.
