Milwaukee, WI – Kevin A. Carr, United
States Marshal for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced
the arrest of Jacob McCann today in Houston, Texas.
Jacob McCann was wanted by the Oshkosh Police Department for Sexual Assault
of a Child, and by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for Violation of
Probation. McCann is alleged to have repeatedly sexually assaulted a 6 year
old girl in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. When Oshkosh Police attempted to arrest
McCann, he fled in a vehicle nearly striking one of the arresting officers.
On December 9, 2010 the Oshkosh Police requested assistance from the
Fugitive Task Force in Milwaukee. Information was developed that McCann had
fled to the Houston, Texas area.
In the early morning hours of December 22, 2010 Deputy Marshals from Houston
apprehended McCann in the 15800 block of Fern Basin Drive in Houston.
McCann was found hiding under a bed with his 5 year old step daughter. He
was taken into custody after a brief struggle and is currently being held in
the Harris County Jail awaiting extradition back to Winnebago County,
Wisconsin.
