Cincinnati, Ohio –
United States Marshal Cathy J. Jones announces the arrest of Russell
Patrick. In the late hours of December 2, 2010, the Southern Ohio Fugitive
Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 35 year-old Russell Patrick in
Wilmington, Ohio. Patrick is accused of injuring a child.
Patrick is also
the subject of a child sex crime investigation by the Grand Prairie (TX)
Police Department. Deputy U.S. Marshal Donnie W. Ray stated, “Protecting
the children of our community is a top priority for the U.S. Marshals. This
arrest highlights the difference we can make when local and federal
authorities work together on a common goal”.
On December 2, 2010, SOFAST received a tip from the U.S. Marshals, Dallas/Fort Worth Task Force that Patrick was residing in Wilmington, Ohio. Patrick had been living in various homeless shelters to hide his location. Task Force Officers located Patrick near Airborne Drive in Wilmington Ohio. Patrick was arrested without incident. Patrick was booked into the Clinton County Jail, where he will wait to be extradited to Texas. SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of the U.S. Marshals, Cincinnati Police Department, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, U.S. Department of Agriculture OIG, Warren County Prosecutors Office and U.S. Attorney’s Office. U.S. Marshals are the nation’s primary fugitive hunting organization and capture more federal fugitives each year than all other law enforcement agencies combined.
