San Antonio, TX – The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force
(LSFTF) sponsored by the
United States Marshals Service (USMS) arrested two fugitives this morning. Eddie
Garza (also known as Eddie Medel) was wanted on a State
Parole Warrant and Larry Solis was wanted on a Federal Warrant.
While searching for fugitive Solis at a residence located at 6445 Hwy 87 in
Bexar County, fugitive Garza/Medel was found in the same dwelling. Also
found in the home was a loaded handgun and heroin. Members of the LSFTF
requested Bexar County Narcotics Officers as well as Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearm and Explosives (ATF) agents to respond
to the scene to take possession of the drugs and gun. The duo may be facing
further criminal proceedings in additional to the current charges. In a side
note, individuals driving the same car found at this residence led officers
on a chase last night while discarding heroin out of a vehicle. Since the
vehicle eventually was able to elude law enforcement, further investigation
will continue to see if there are any ties between those arrested and the
drugs found last night. .
Garza/Medel is currently in custody at the Bexar County Jail and Solis is in
federal custody..
Robert Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas
said, “It is a good way to start the day when the LSFTF captures not one,
but two wanted fugitives in the same residence. Our very own Texas USMS
Violent Offender Task Forces continue to do this dangerous work in order to
help protect our citizens from further harm.”
