Kevin A. Carr, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Announces the Arrest of Stewart Creekmore
MILWAUKEE – Kevin A. Carr, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced the arrest of Stewart Creekmore. Creekmore, had escaped from the Montgomery County Jail in Mount Sterling, Kentucky on October 8, 2010. He had been awaiting trial on a charge of Homicide, and had been in custody since August 13, 2010.

Deputy US Marshals from Kentucky developed information that placed Creekmore in Wisconsin, and requested assistance from the marshals office in Green Bay. After working several leads, Deputy US Marshals and Green Bay Police Officers approached an address on South Quincy Street. A search of the residence was unsuccessful, but investigators determined that Creekmore had fled from the back door and after a brief chase, was taken into custody. He was arrested without further incident and taken to the
Brown County Jail to await extradition to Kentucky.

Stewart Creekmore, 25, had fled through a chain-link fence in a recreation yard at the Montgomery County Regional Jail in Mount Sterling, Kentucky on October 7, 2010. Creekmore was being held in connection with a July car crash in which his vehicle allegedly ran a red light and broadsided a truck, killing the man driving the truck. Creekmore’s 21-year-old girlfriend, a passenger in his vehicle, was six months pregnant and lost the child after the crash.
