| U.S. Marshals Wrap up Busy Week by Capturing Convicted Alabama Sex Offender in Pensacola; Gun and Drugs Also Seized |

Pensacola, FL
– The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a man late
this afternoon wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in
Birmingham, AL who had been hiding in Pensacola for several months. Markies
Terrell Cleveland, 23, who is wanted on a charge of Sex Offender Failure to
Notify of Change of Residence, was arrested during a felony car stop at the
intersection of Luke Street and Hollywood Boulevard. Deputy Marshals from
the task force and Escambia County investigators assigned to the task force
were conducting surveillance of a house on the 5500 Block of Jackson Street
when they identified Cleveland driving an SUV away from the house. They
followed the truck and requested assistance from ECSO Patrol before stopping
the vehicle at about 2:45 p.m. and took him into custody without incident.
Other passengers in the truck were detained and released. Cleveland was
searched incident to arrest and drugs were found in his possession. During a
search of the vehicle a loaded .357 revolver was found hidden under the
console and additional drugs were found including marijuana, crack cocaine
and a scale. Cleveland was then charged with Convicted Felon in Possession
of a Firearm, Cocaine Possession, Marijuana Possession with Intent to Sell,
Manufacture or Deliver, all felonies and Possession of Drug Equipment and
Driving While License Suspended both misdemeanors. He is being held in the
Escambia County Jail on those charges with a $10,500 bond as well as a
fugitive from justice on the Alabama warrant. Other wanted fugitives also arrested by the FRFTF this week included:
