Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force given Metropolitan Crime Commission’s “ 2010 Excellence in Law Enforcement Award"

On Tuesday, February 23, 2010, Acting U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Louisiana Steven Hartman accepted the Metropolitan Crime Commission’s “ 2010 Excellence in Law Enforcement Award ,” on behalf of the New Orleans Division of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF). The award recognized the GCRFTF’s efforts in the New Orleans area, resulting in more than 1,200 physical arrests and more than 1,800 outstanding warrants cleared.  

 

Acting Marshal Hartman credited the tremendous teamwork among many U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) districts and divisions, to produce the outstanding results.  In the preceding year, the USMS conducted three major fugitive operations involving critical manpower and technological resources provided by USMS Districts, the GCRFTF, the Investigative Operations Division, the Sex Offender Investigations Branch, and the Special Operations Group. 

 

Special recognition was bestowed upon the “Louisiana-based” Technical Operations Group, whose tireless efforts resulted in numerous major felony arrests.
