U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrests Murder Suspect

Cincinnati, OH – On 02/11/2010 at approximately 7:00 am, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 26 year-old Walter “Shay” Johnson at an associate’s residence located on Manss Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio. Johnson is accused of shooting and killing Larry Anderson, 27 years-old, at 3326 Woodburn Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 7, 2009. Johnson has a lengthy criminal record that includes multiple convictions for various crimes including drug abuse. Acting U.S. Marshal Cathy Jones stated “Due to the shortage of resources within the local law enforcement community it is imperative that Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement join forces to protect our community. This arrest highlights the impact we can make when we work together and with assistance from the community.”

On 02/11/2010, SOFAST developed information that Johnson was staying with his girlfriend’s mother on Manss Avenue. Task Force Officers entered the house and called for Johnson to come downstairs and surrender. Johnson complied with the officers orders and was arrested without incident. Johnson was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center.

SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of the U.S. Marshals, Cincinnati Police Department, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, U.S. Department of Agriculture OIG, Warren County Prosecutors Office and U.S. Attorney’s Office.
