Cathy J. Jones, Acting United States Marshal
for the Southern District of Ohio and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s
Office, announce the arrest of Shamar Davis. Davis was wanted on 4 Counts of
Felonious Assault charges in Dayton, Ohio.
On 12/25/2009, in the 100 block of Shoup Mill road in Harrison Township,
Davis is alleged to have shot two people in the parking lot of a club after
a fight had begun inside. Davis, a reputed member of the “Money Go Getters”
street gang, has had numerous previous contacts with law enforcement where
he has been in possession of a weapon.
The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) was contacted
by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department to assist in locating and
apprehending Davis. Without delay, SOFAST began the man hunt and arrested
Davis earlier today in the 300 block of Timberlake Drive, Vandalia, OH.
Members of SOFAST were able to confirm that Davis was in the apartment and
made entry to the residence. Davis was located in the rear hallway where he
was apprehended without incident. Davis was transported to the Montgomery
County Jail where he awaits the pending charges.
