Rapist Apprehended in Florida

The United States Marshals Service has arrested a 28-year-old Laurel, Del. man in Florida who was wanted on multiple counts of rape and kidnapping. Daniel E. Schultz, 28 previously of Laurel, Del. was wanted by the Delaware State Police for multiple counts of rape, kidnapping, weapons charge and other related charges.

Delaware State Police was investigating the rapes during August 2009 near Laurel, Del. As a result of the investigation, troopers obtained warrants for Daniel E. Schultz, 28. The investigation revealed, Shultz fled Delaware and may have relocated to Florida. United States Marshals in Florida checked several motels and a relative’s house in Saint Petersburg, Fla. At approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, deputy marshals arrested Schultz at an apartment on 75 Ave., Saint Petersburg, Fla. He was arrested without incident.

Schultz is being held at a Pinellas County Jail pending extradition to Delaware.
