U.S. Marshals Capture Murder Suspect from Puerto Rico
Nashville, TN – A cold case murder investigation was closed today in Nashville with the arrest of former Puerto Rico resident Roberto Rodriguez-Pabon. Rodriguez-Pabon, age 27, was wanted by the Puerto Rico Police Department for the car-jacking and Murder of Jorge Echevarria-Medina on August 31, 2001 in the city of Ponce. U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force Officers in Nashville tracked Rodriguez-Pabon to an apartment at 300 Berkley Drive.

Rodriguez-Pabon came to Tennessee shortly after the alleged homicide. Rodriguez -Pabon was using the name Roberto Rodriguez while living in Nashville since at least 2002. Bond is set in Puerto Rico at $2,000,000. The arrest warrant was signed on December 15, 2008. He was reportedly not employed at the time of arrest. He was charged in Nashville with Fugitive from Justice. He was lodged in the Metro Jail pending extradition to Puerto Rico.
