December 31, 2009 
A man who was wanted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a shooting which resulted in the death of a Pensacola man was captured by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. The suspect, Marvin Jamel Smith, was arrested without incident by Task Force Investigators with help from Pensacola Police task force members, Escambia Patrol Units and investigators from the A.T.F.

Nearly five years after charges were first filed on Frederick McLean, he is still running from the law. McLean, an alleged sexual predator, is wanted in California on four counts of child molestation, one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and one count of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Authorities need the public’s help in getting McLean off the streets and away from potential victims.

A Phoenix man sought for the Parental Kidnapping of his nine year-old daughter was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals-led Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT), and Detectives with the Tempe Police Department at a residence in Phoenix. Earl Nelson, 35, was wanted by the Schenectady (New York) Police Department after it was alleged that Nelson traveled from Phoenix to New York, kidnapped his nine year-old daughter from her mother, and returned to Phoenix.

The United States Marshals Service San Diego Fugitive Task Force has joined the manhunt for Jesus Alejandro Arteaga. U.S. Marshals have filed a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for Arteaga. Arteaga is wanted by the Chula Vista Police Department for the murder of Maribel Arteaga, a Customs and Border Protection officer, in front of her two children.

The U. S. Marshals Service and the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force recently surpassed a monumental mark. “This month marks 1000 fugitive arrests for the task force,” said Deputy U. S. Marshal Dewaine Allen. The Task Force began its work in November 2007, with a grant of more than $500,000. The grant was written and is administered by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, but funding is close to an end.

Last night, an escapee from Tennessee and his wife were arrested by U.S. Marshals in east Phoenix, AZ. Keith Lee Whitling, age 41, and his wife, Melissa Jewel, age 37, were the targets of a drug investigation conducted in Erwin, Tennessee. The couple was allegedly involved in trading OxyContin for marijuana.

A woman wanted by the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was captured by the United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Savannah, Georgia. Barbara Conklin, 42, was wanted by the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department for Failure to Comply related to a forgery conviction in 2002. Conklin was convicted on a forgery charge in August of 2002.

The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) and the Sandusky Police Department arrested Jackie McElroy for homicide. McElroy was wanted on the homicide by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama.

The United States Marshals have arrested a Newark area man who was wanted by New Castle County Police for murder and related charges. The Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Khary Knight, 21 of Newark who was indicted for a murder that occurred on July 28, 2009 at the Georgetown Manor Apartments near New Castle.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force had a busy morning in Perry, Florida during a street level roundup of several locally wanted fugitives. All told, Task Force members arrested 10 individuals wanted on a wide array of charges from Lewd and Lascivious Sexual Battery of a Child to Violation of Probation on Narcotic Convictions.

A man wanted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender was arrested by the United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force Atlanta Office in Fulton County, Georgia. Timothy Collins, 42, was being sought by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender after his release from state prison.

United States Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announces the arrest of Fermin Pucheta-Temich. On December 4, Pucheta-Temich, 32, was extradited from Mexico City on a warrant of arrest out of San Francisco for multiple federal charges of sexual assault with a minor.

15 Most Wanted Fugitive Addition - The U.S. Marshals have added to their “15 Most Wanted” list of fugitives a man suspected of killing four relatives Thanksgiving Day in Jupiter, Fla. Paul Michael Merhige, 35, allegedly opened fire on his family, killing four people, including his twin sisters, one of whom was pregnant, a 79-year-old aunt and a six-year-old cousin, and wounding a brother-in-law and another man.

15 Most Wanted Fugitive Capture - U.S. Marshals '15 Most Wanted' fugitive, Arcade Joseph Comeaux, Jr., has been apprehended in Houston, TX after a week on the run. Comeaux was serving three life sentences when he escaped custody during his transport from Huntsville, Texas to Stiles, Texas on November 30, 2009.

United States Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announces the arrest of Juan Beltran Lopez. On November 23, Lopez was arrested in San Jose, Calif. on a federal provisional arrest warrant for purpose of extradition on a charge of Intentional Homicide in Mexico. On March 11, 2009, Lopez and his three brothers allegedly beat and shot a man to death.

The U.S. Marshals have added to their ”15 Most Wanted “ list a man serving three life sentences who escaped custody during his transport from Huntsville, TX. During the escape, Arcade Joseph Comeaux, Jr. allegedly produced a weapon and fired upon two correctional officers, took them hostage and forced them to drive to Baytown, TX where he restrained the officers in the back of the van, took their firearms and one of their uniforms.

Search Continues for Florida Homicide Suspect - On November 26, 2009, Paul Michael Merhige was invited to a family Thanksgiving dinner in Jupiter, Florida where he open fired with a handgun on unsuspecting guests, killing four and wounding two. The investigation revealed that Merhige had a strong resentment toward several family members.

Cathy J. Jones, Acting U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio and Springfield Police Chief Steven Moody, announce the arrest of Jarron Y. Tabor. Tabor was wanted on attempted homicide charges in Springfield, Ohio; multiple charges in West Virginia, which include three counts of conspiracy to distribute dangerous drugs; and multiple charges in Montgomery County to include carrying a concealed weapon.

The U.S. Marshals and the Grand Rapids Police Department announce the arrest of James Jamar Harris. Harris was charged with a seven count felony warrant by the Grand Rapids Police Department on 11/06/2009. The charges include 2 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, 1st Degree, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, armed home invasion, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm, and failing to register as a sex offender.

A man who was wanted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for escape was captured late tonight after a high speed chase that started in Escambia County and ended in Santa Rosa County. Edgar Boyd Farmer led Task Force Investigators and over two dozen marked units from both Escambia and Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Offices on a car chase that often reached speeds over 90 mph before ditching the truck he was driving into the Escambia Bay at the Floridatown Boat Ramp.

The manhunt for the two prison escapees turned fugitives who walked away from the Bastrop Minimum Security Prison Camp outside of Bastrop, Texas last week was short lived as the pair were located in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, across from the border city of Del Rio, Texas, this evening. Leandro Luna, 52, of San Angelo, Texas and Adan Chavez, 53, of Edinburg, Texas were detained by the Procuraduria General de Justicia del Estado de Coahuila (PGJE).

The U.S. Marshals Alaska Fugitive Task Force tracked murder suspect Ariel Patrick to Guatemala. Patrick was wanted for the murder of Jamaal Barras that occurred Sept. 29, 2007 in Anchorage. Subsequently, the Anchorage Police Department requested assistance from the US Marshals Service-led Alaska Fugitive Task Force in locating and apprehending Patrick.

- The U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is pleased to announce the arrest of fugitives Beau Murray; John Boisvert; and Timothy Gray. All three of these fugitives that were arrested were previously featured as U.S. Marshals/WTPL-FM ‘Fugitive’s of the Week.’

U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the arrest of Melanie Marie Hearn, age 32, apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Wooster, Ohio yesterday. Hearn was wanted out of Louisiana for principle to aggravated rape and probation violation for prior cocaine convictions. It is alleged that Hearn witnessed the rape of her 6 year old daughter and failed to take action against it.
November 17, 2009-
Early this morning, a group of officers led by Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested Tyrell McCoy on a warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, murder in the first degree and armed criminal action. McCoy was arrested in an apartment in Minneapolis with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, St. Louis City Police and Minneapolis Police Department.

Twenty-Nine Year Old Ferdinand Nickles was arrested at an Apartment Complex in Decatur, GA (DeKalb County) by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force (SERTF) in Atlanta. Nickles was being sought for 1st Degree Murder Charges that stemmed from the murder of Ernest Guidry in Vermilion Parish.

Permian Basin residents can rest a little easier today as one more child predator is sentenced to prison time under the Adam Walsh Act, also known as the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 in which U.S. Marshals have primary investigative authority. Kenneth Daniel Spriggs was sentenced yesterday by Federal District Judge Rob Junell in Midland, to 30 months in custody with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, to be followed by a term of 20 years of supervised release.

Cathy J. Jones, Acting United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio and Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer, announce the arrest of Lawrence W. Yancey. Yancey, who has an extensive criminal history to include assault, domestic violence, arson, robbery, and drugs is also a convicted sex offender after he was convicted of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor.

Tim Williams, 23-year veteran of the U.S. Marshals Service, is sworn in as Director of INTERPOL-United States National Central Bureau (USNCB) by Attorney General Eric Holder today in the Department of Justice's Great Hall.

CLARK CONCERNING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S ANNOUNCEMENT ON GUANTANAMO BAY DETAINEES - The U.S. Marshals Service has been an active participant in the Department of Justice and administration task forces reviewing the Guantanamo Bay detainee cases. Our agency, along with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, has extensive experience managing the security of dangerous defendants and alleged terrorists in the U.S. judicial system and I am confident our high standards of security will meet the challenges posed by this case.

Friday the thirteenth has proved to be a very unlucky day for a Madison County jail escapee and an 18 year old associate. On November 4, 2009, Benjamin Justin Jones escaped as he was being booked into the Madison County on federal charges of providing false information to a United States Forest Service Officer.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force caught up with two Louisiana men who escaped from a jail in New Orleans late in October. On October 23 at about 1 a.m., Bryan Dunbar, 35, and Alex Lee, 30 had escaped from a temporary jail facility from Orleans Parish after climbing a fence and escaping on foot.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) recently arrested 25 year old Roberto Ganoa. Ganoa was on the San Antonio Police Department’s MOST WANTED list for a homicide he committed in 2006. In 2006 Ganoa was charged with the homicide of his friend after a botched robbery attempt.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested San Antonio Ten Most Wanted 31 year old Lucio Blake last night on Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child charges. This past October multiple law enforcement agencies partnered up to do compliance checks of sex offenders followed by a pre-halloween enforcement sweep for those wanted on sex offenses.

More than 100 pieces of personal property, jewelry, and furs seized from Bernard L. Madoff and his wife, Ruth Madoff, by the United States Marshals Service in New York and Florida will be sold during a live auction in New York City on November 14, 2009.

November 09, 2009 - 15 Most Wanted Fugitive Capture  - A violent gang member, on the run since a 2006 Washington State jailbreak, was captured yesterday evening in Manzanillo in the Mexican state of Colima. Aaron Lopez Garcia, 31, was taken into custody by the Colima State Police, with the cooperation of Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the agency’s field office in Mexico City.

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, October 21st, United States Attorney General Eric Holder presented the Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement to the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force (RFTF) Program at the 57th Annual Attorney General’s Awards. The Award for Excellence is presented annually to Department of Justice representatives and recognizes outstanding professional achievements by law enforcement officers.

Members of the United States Marshals Service Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Rodneick Carl Thompson for several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Thompson evaded arrest from local authorities on Monday, November 02, after being found in possession of a controlled substance and a prohibited weapon.

From October 28-30, Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies collaborated on “Operation Safe Treat,” a three day fugitive operation targeting non-compliant sex offenders and those wanted for various other sex related offenses and crimes against children. Operation Safe Treat netted law enforcement 6 arrests.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended a violent fugitive after they had to use a taser in order to subdue him. Emanuel Pride who is wanted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for Resisting Arrest, Failure to Appear, Drug Possession and charges revoking his bond was found hiding behind a clothes dresser by Task Force Officers in an apartment in Shalimar.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended an Alabama man who is wanted for two murders and an attempted murder that took place over a decade ago in Alabama. A warrant that was issued earlier this month in Coosa County, Al states that Charles Richard Tooley had badly beaten several people and then left them in a building that he set on fire.

The two juvenile suspects, 15 years of age and 17 years of age were arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST). Both juvenile suspects are charged with the October 24th Aggravated Robbery and Murder of Herschell Palomore Jr. in Cincinnati.

Nearly 400 registered sex offenders got a surprise visit from a task force of over 20 agents from 10 area law enforcement agencies last month. The operation, dubbed “Knock-Knock”, was led by the U.S. Marshals Service with the intent of verifying the addresses provided by convicted sex offenders during their initial or annual registration. Louisiana law requires convicted sex offenders to register with local law enforcement where they reside and work.

The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended wanted fugitive Jonathan Ward. Ward was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police on charges of armed robbery. Ward also had outstanding charges with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for carrying a concealed weapon.

The U.S. Marshals Service is warning the public today of a telephone scam involving callers falsely identifying themselves as U.S. Marshals employees. Typically, the fraudulent caller will identify the recipient of the call as the winner of a large amount of cash and will state that a processing fee must be paid before a Deputy U.S. Marshal will deliver the money. The U.S. Marshals Service is a federal law enforcement agency; it does not deliver monies on behalf of any entity unless it is part of a court order and it does not require the recipient of any proceeds to pay a delivery fee over the telephone.

The U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Department of State, Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Phoenix Police Department, members of the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Lazar Yousif Lazar as he re-entered the United States . In March 2009 a warrant was issued by the Maricopa County Superior Court for the arrest of Lazar after he failed to appear for court proceedings related to the prior charges of First Degree Murder, Assisting a Criminal Street Gang, Aggravated Assault, and Robbery.

An Emanuel County man wanted by the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Department in Swainsboro, Georgia was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Eden, Georgia. Patric Kersey, 45, was being sought on numerous state warrants for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Aggravated Assault, two charges of Aggravated Battery, and Felony Obstruction.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force located a missing “endangered” juvenile in Thomasville, GA. The Marshals task force was contacted by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office located in Eastman, GA for assistance after developing information indicating the juveniles were possibly in the area. According to Lt. Donald Helm, two juveniles, 16 year old Jamila Roberson and 17 year old Hermina Brown, disappeared from the campus of Dodge County High School on Tuesday, October 13.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested Ruben Nuncio Jr. on Federal Charges after developing information he may be hiding out at a motel in San Antonio. On September 28, 2009, a federal arrest warrant was issued charging Ruben Nuncio Jr. with a violation of the conditions of Federal Supervised Release.

Charles Andrew Williams, wanted on a federal warrant by the U.S. Marshals Eastern Iowa Fugitive Task Force for Possession of Child Pornography, was arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals in Pensacola.  The U.S. Marshals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa requested the assistance of the Pensacola Division of the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Williams.  Task Force members with the Eastern Iowa Fugitive Task Force received information that Williams was living in Pace, Florida.  The Pensacola Task Force apprehended Williams without incident.
October 21, 2009 - A Florida man wanted by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department in Largo, Florida was arrested by the United States Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) Precinct Officers in Savannah, Georgia. Jovan Collier, 31, was being sought a state warrant for Aggravated Stalking.
October 19, 2009 - Cathy J. Jones, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announced that Marco Medina has been arrested. In August of 2004, United States District Court Judge Edmund A. Sargus Jr. issued a warrant for Medina’s arrest. The warrant charged Medina with Conspiracy and Possession with Intent to Distribute over one hundred kilograms of marijuana.
October 19, 2009 - Washington - The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) has announced that the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force (RFTF) Program is the recipient of the 2008 National Award for Group Achievement.  The six Regional Fugitive Task Forces, which cover 28 federal judicial districts, were commended for their work in reducing violent crime by targeting fugitive felons, including sex offenders who fail to register, and individuals associated with gang activity.
October 17, 2009 - Bernard Baker AKA: Scrappy, was apprehended at a home on Schoolhouse Road in Columbia, SC. Baker is a fugitive from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is a suspect in a Homicide/Murder that took place on August 16, 2008. The U.S. Marshals Task Force, Operation Intercept received a request for investigative assistance on August 1, 2009 based on information gathered leading investigators to believe Baker had fled to South Carolina.
October 16, 2009 - Joseph Guccione, the U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of New York, announced today the completed sale of Bernard Madoff's residence in Montauk, New York. After multiple offers, the property, which was listed for 8.75 million on September 01, 2009 with the Corcoran Group, was sold on September 18, 2009 for 9.41 million.
October 13, 2009 - A North Carolina man wanted by the Raleigh Police Department was arrested by the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) Westside Precinct Officers in Savannah, Georgia. Justin Jamel Brown, 20, was being sought a state warrant for Armed Robbery, issued on October 9, 2009 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
October 07, 2009- The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has tracked down wanted murder suspect Adrian Horn in Georgia. Horn was wanted by the Mansfield Division of Police for the murder of Kevin Moses on July 7, 2009. The Mansfield Police Department and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force have been working on the case since the date of the alleged murder.
October 07, 2009 - Leonardo “Joker” Rodriguez, 36 years of age, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico.  Within the last month, leads were developed that identified that Rodriguez was in Puerto Rico and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force requested assistance from the Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force.  Rodriguez was wanted for Aggravated Robbery, Dangerous Drugs, and for Escape.
October 07, 2009 - Two murder suspects and an armed kidnapper are apprehended within hours of each other in Cincinnati, Ohio. Antonio Portis, 19 years of age, Demar Edmonds, 22 years of age, and Jerome Taylor, 43 years of age, were arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST).
October 02, 2009 - Troy Wayne Fletcher, a federal fugitive on the run for three years, was captured by U.S. Marshals Service. Fletcher was indicted on child pornography charges in the Western District of Arkansas in November of 2006. Fletcher was on a home detention monitor while awaiting trial. Fletcher cut the monitor off and went on the run in December of 2006.
October 02, 2009 - The Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force arrested Terry Hayes, 41, in the Gravette, Arkansas area this morning after an exhaustive man hunt. On September 28, 2009, a federal warrant was issued for Hayes’ arrest for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
October 01, 2009- A jury in U.S. District Court here today convicted Michael Harper, 54, of Cincinnati of one count of failure to register as a sex offender, as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
September 29, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and members of its Fugitive Task Force arrested Ismet Delić in Harrisburg. In March 2006, an arrest warrant was issued in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Cantonal Court of Novi Travnik charging Ismet Delić with murder.
September 29, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan and Williamsport Police Chief Gregory Foresman announced today that murder fugitive Riccheem Barker surrendered to U.S. Marshals and Williamsport Bureau of Police detectives in Newark, New Jersey.
September 29, 2009 - Peter J. Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio announces that the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Lorain County Division apprehended violent fugitive Andres Arzola in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Arzola was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for 12 counts of Armed Robbery and 12 counts of Kidnapping and he was also wanted by the Lorain Police Department for Felonious Assault, Aggravated Burglary and Kidnapping.

September 24, 2009 - Forty-Nine Year Old Norman Roberts was arrested by US Marshals with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in Houston at 4:00 p.m. today. Roberts was Wanted by Louisiana’s Office of Probation and Parole for violating his conditions of parole. Roberts’ Warrant was dated November 8, 2004. Norman Roberts caused a vehicle accident on Hwy. 90 on April 24, 2003 that resulted in two deaths.

September 22, 2009 - After sixteen months on the run, a man wanted by the Evans County Sheriff’s Department in Claxton, Georgia has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals South Carolina Operation Intercept Fugitive Task Force in Bishopville, South Carolina. Roger Terrell Wilkes, 21, was being sought a state warrant for Failure to Appear.
September 21, 2009 - A Savannah man wanted by the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) was arrested by the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, SCMPD K-9, SCMPD Detectives, Savannah Impact Officers, and SCMPD Trap Officers in Savannah, Georgia. Roland Parker, 20, was being sought a state warrant for Parole Violation.
September 21, 2009 - A Savannah man listed as number two on the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department's (SCMPD) Most Wanted list was arrested by the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, SCMPD K-9, SCMPD Detectives, Savannah Impact Officers, and SCMPD Trap Officers in Savannah, Georgia. Lenard Kearse, 21, was being sought a state warrants for Aggravated Assault and a violent carjacking.
September 21, 2009 - On September 17, 2009, Keith A. McGarry (41 years of age) and Jeremy Estes (37 years of age) were indicted in the Western District of Arkansas on federal charges related to the receipt and possession of sexually explicit materials involving children.
September 18, 2009 - Forty-six year old Brent Aucoin was arrested in the West Bank area of New Orleans. Aucoin was Wanted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Office for Aggravated Rape, Incest, Aggravated Incest, Molestation of a Juvenile, and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.
September 18, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service in the Southern District of Ohio, the State of Ohio Adult Parole Authority, and the men and women of the Belmont County and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Offices conducted a joint law enforcement effort to keep tabs on local sex offenders in their counties. On September 14-18, 2009, Deputy Sheriffs, Deputy U.S. Marshals, and Adult Parole Officers teamed up to verify the residences of registered sex offenders. This initiative is a collaborative law enforcement effort that is designed to keep the public safe by ensuring that these offenders are complying with sex offender registration obligations and residing where they have reported.
September 17, 2009 - Teddie Lee Carroll, 44 is an absconded sex offender with three outstanding warrants who was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) in Orlando. The Pensacola Division of the FRFTF arrested Carroll this evening in Pensacola. Carroll was being sought by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office for Violating Probation by Failing to Register as a Sex Offender.
September 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has tracked down another fugitive wanted for sex offenses. Fugitive Bobby Smith was wanted by the Mansfield Police Department and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for sexual battery of a minor.
September 15, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service has arrested a 28-year-old Laurel, Del. man in Florida who was wanted on multiple counts of rape and kidnapping. Daniel E. Schultz, 28 previously of Laurel, Del. was wanted by the Delaware State Police for multiple counts of rape, kidnapping, weapons charge and other related charges.

September 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force today announced the arrest of 18 year old Adrian Leebrent Hunter from Jupiter, Florida for the offenses of 3rd Degree Murder with a Firearm, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and Manslaughter with a Firearm.
September 14, 2009 - On Sunday September 13th, 2009, James Craig McGee, an inmate at the Rusk County Jail in Henderson, TX, escaped - but he wasn’t on the loose for long. At approximately 5am Sunday Morning McGee ran away from the Rusk County Jail to his girlfriend’s house, not far from the jail. The two then led authorities on a manhunt involving the Rusk and Smith County Sheriffs offices, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Tyler Police Department, and Members of the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force consisting of Deputy US Marshals, the Smith County DA’s office, and the Texas Rangers. McGee had been recently convicted of burglary and was at Rusk County waiting to serve his ten year prison sentence.
September 03, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and members of its Fugitive Task Force arrested Eman Wiggs in Henryville, Pennsylvania. Wiggs was being sought on an arrest warrant issued by the Essex County Courts in Newark, New Jersey. On July 6, an incident occurred in Newark in which a victim was shot by several individuals. An investigation by the Newark Police Department determined that Eman Wiggs and Bilal Farrell were the assailants.
September 02, 2009 - Lawrence F. Sipple, 38, of Cincinnati was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment for failing to register as a sex offender, as required by the federal Sex Offender Registration Notification Act (SORNA). Sipple was also placed under court supervision for the rest of his life.
August 31, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding federal charges for failure to appear was arrested by a joint fugitive operation comprised of Deputy Marshals from the U.S. Marshals Service’s Brunswick Office and members of the following departments to include, Brunswick Police Department, the Glynn County Police Department, the Wayne County Sheriffs Department and the Brunswick State Probation Office. Larry Jackson’s original charges were: Conspiracy to manufacture 1000 or more marijuana plants, Possession of a firearm by a Convicted Felon and Parole Violation.
August 31, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit worked together to capture a local rap artist who is wanted in connection with an armed home invasion. The Task Force and the Gang Unit caught up with suspect Antonio Dean aka “Lue Kane” late this afternoon in the city limits of Pensacola, after just missing him early Friday morning in the Lincoln Park section of Escambia County.
August 31, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the North Charleston, South Carolina Police Department has been arrested by the Savannah Office of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department K-9 unit in Savannah, Georgia. Michael Louis Daniels was being sought on state warrants for Criminal Sexual Conduct, First Degree, Kidnapping, and Assault and Battery with intent to kill.
August 25, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Dalcapone Alpaccino Morris. Morris was wanted by the Dayton Police Department for Murder, Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Assault.
August 19, 2009 - A Vidalia man wanted by the Vidalia Police Department, Toombs Sheriff’s Department, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department was arrested in a joint effort by the Savannah Office of the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Vidalia Police Department, the Toombs County Sheriff’s Department, and the East Central Drug Task Force in Vidalia, Georgia. Nicholas Singleton, 30, was being sought on numerous state warrants for Armed Robbery, Burglary, RICO, and Failure to Appear.
August 13, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service recently participated in the first-ever worldwide manhunt for violent fugitives, providing investigative support to Interpol and Crime Stoppers International during Operation INFRA-RED – International Fugitive Round-up and Arrest - Red Notices. The cooperative effort in June involved law enforcement agencies from four continents with significant contributions by Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Jamaica, the United Kingdom and the United States.
August 12, 2009 -  A joint investigation by the United States Marshals Service and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service lead to the arrest of Rusila Mara McMorran, a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia. A federal felony warrant was issued against McMorran, charging her with sexual abuse of a minor - a 13-year-old boy.
August 11, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Jose Castro in Bronx, New York. Castro was being sought on an arrest warrant charging him with Criminal Homicide, as well as other related offenses. On July 31, the York City Police Department investigated the fatal shooting of victim Pedro Baez. The attacker fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement personnel.
August 10, 2009 - Steven Mark Anthony Requena, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force at the Port of Tampa today. Requena was wanted by Canada for Assault with a Weapon, Forcible Confinement, Sexual Assault, With a Weapon, and Uttering Threats of Death / Bodily Harm that occurred in 2007.
August 07, 2009 - One of Acadiana’s Most Wanted, Brian Keith Thomas was arrested in Houma by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriffs Office and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force (GCRT). Thomas was wanted for Escaping from the Avoyelles Parish Jail on Saturday, August 1, 2009. Further, Thomas was awaiting trial in Evangeline Parish for 2nd Degree Murder and two counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
August 06, 2009 - Twenty-Six year old Anthony Thomas was arrested today by Sebastian County, Arkansas (Ft. Smith). Thomas was wanted by U.S. Marshals in Lafayette for violating his bond. Thomas was originally arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for Possession of Child Pornography.
August 04, 2009 - A Jacksonville Florida man wanted by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Homicide Unit for murder was arrested by the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Woodbine, Georgia. Donald Lance Crawford, 28, was being sought on state warrants for murder of a 17 month old female child which was left in his care.
August 04, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Child Sexual Assault suspect 48 year old Leonardo Miranda. In June of 2009, Miranda was accused of sexually assaulting a minor child in Guadalupe County and an arrest warrant was subsequently issued.
July 31, 2009 - John Edward Bond, a North Carolina man wanted by the North Carolina Department of Corrections for Probation Violation and by the Wake County Sheriff’s Department for failure to register as a sex offender, was arrested by the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Brunswick, Georgia on July 30, 2009.
July 31, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announced today that Bobbie Lee Garrett has been arrested. On February 2, 2009 a warrant was issued for Garrett following the return of a 15 count indictment for Child Abuse-Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
July 31, 2009 - Arturo Casas, 29, of Irving, Texas was arrested last night in the Williamson County community of Florence by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Casas was sought by the Dallas Police Department for his involvement as the alleged shooter in last week’s homicide in Dallas where Casas was seen fleeing from the scene after the victim was shot and killed with a handgun.
July 30, 2009 - The Badgerland Fugitive Apprehension Squad arrested Tavaras Montgomery in Madison, WI. Montgomery was wanted on charges of Willful Injury, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a firearm in Waterloo, Iowa.
July 29, 2009 - Like the Franck Mueller 10-carat men’s diamond watch valued at $30K, all of the items to be previewed for the media by the U.S. Marshals at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning are eye-popping. The assets will be sold at public auction in Austin on Saturday – and many could go for bargain prices. But, like a 4.5 carat diamond and platinum ring (worth over $22,000), the histories behind these assets are often quite colorful.
July 29, 2009 - Thirty-two year old Arthur Johnson was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Lafayette with assistance from the Opelousas Police Department. Johnson, along with Lester Jones, escaped from the Orleans Parish Prison sometime during the evening of July 21, 2009.
July 29, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announced today that Aaron Gilbert has been arrested. On July 10, 2009 a warrant was issued for Gilbert by the Franklin County Common Pleas Court for Possession of Drugs.
July 27, 2009 - A Savannah man wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department was arrested by the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on June 26, 2009. Michael Allen Dimsdale, 29, was being sought a state warrant for Possession of Firearms by a Convicted felon, issued in Savannah, Georgia.
July 24, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and officials from the DHS Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Detention and Removal Operations (ICE-DRO) located Humberto Lerma-Velazco in Bullhead City, Arizona. He was apprehended in a coordinated effort by Bullhead City Police. Humberto Lerma-Velazco, 51, was wanted by authorities in Baja, California, Mexico in connection with a murder that occurred there in October of 2005.
July 24, 2009 - Hardy Jacobs, a fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police department and the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and a SCMPD K-9 unit in Savannah, Georgia.
July 23, 2009 - Tyjuan Pearson, 24 years of age, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Springfield Township Police Department. Pearson, who was considered armed and dangerous, was wanted in Kentucky by the Lexington Police Department for 1st Degree Assault that occurred on June 14th.
July 23, 2009 - Deputies and Officers from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Quadralis Watson outside a hotel in Blackshear, Georgia today. Watson was wanted for allegedly committing an assault and robbery in Waikiki.
July 23, 2009 - Brady Cormier was arrested today by U.S. Marshals, Avoyelles Parish Sheriffs Deputies, Louisiana State Police, and others in Marksville, LA. Cormier was wanted by Acadia Parish, St. Landry Parish, Scott PD, and Louisiana Parole and Probation for Burglary related charges and a Parole Violation. Further, Cormier may be facing Burglary related charges in Gueydan.
July 22, 2009 - More than twenty members of the U.S. Marshals Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) received awards today for exceptional leadership, investigative efforts, and contributions to the task force’s operations throughout the country.  The awards, presented every two years, honor members of the Department of Justice, Department of Treasury, and the Department of Homeland Security who represent the overall OCDETF mission with superior professionalism, investigative leadership, and spirit of the program.
July 21, 2009 - Former Fugitive of the Week Carlos Williams was apprehended on Cleveland’s east side. Williams was profiled as the Fugitive of the Week this past April after he was named as a suspect in the armed robbery of the Rascal House Pizza shop in Euclid, Ohio. At the request of the Euclid Police Department, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force began an intense search for Williams.
July 20, 2009 - Jason Schalebaum, 26, was arrested in Deland, FL by members of the U.S. Marshals led Regional Fugitive Task Force. Schalebaum was arrested on a warrant issued by the New Durham, NH Police Department. The New Durham Police Department obtained the arrest warrant for the following charges: three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault, two counts of simple assault and one count of reckless conduct, by placing another in danger.
July 17, 2009 - Investigators from the U.S. Marshals’ Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) arrested Vernon Marcus Coleman, aka Jason Stevenson Parkinson and ‘WU’, at an apartment in north Atlanta. Coleman had been on the run for two years. On July 10, 2007, in the Northern District of Georgia, an indictment was affirmed and a warrant issued for Coleman for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine.
July 16, 2009 - Twenty-three year old Arturo Vasquez was arrested this morning by U.S. Marshals in the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, TX. Vasquez was wanted for allegedly stealing (by way of credit card fraud) eight-thousand dollars worth of merchandise from Home Depot in Lafayette; four-thousand dollars from Home Depot in Broussard; and four-thousand dollars from Home Depot in Alexandria. Vasquez is also under investigation for similar crimes in other cities in Louisiana to include Lake Charles and Monroe.
July 16, 2009 - Fugitive DeCharles Stephens thought that he could outrun the long arm of the law by hiding in Arizona. Today, he found out the hard way that the reach of the U.S. Marshals Service has no boundaries. Stephens was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Glendale, Arizona. On June 11, Stephens escaped from a City of Cleveland prisoner van as he was being transported between the city jail and the Cleveland House of Corrections. Stephens was in custody on charges of attempted murder with a firearm.
July 15, 2009 - The Western District of Louisiana’s Fugitive Task Force in Lafayette arrested thirty-seven year old Jack Copeland in Lafayette. Copeland was Wanted in Shelby County Alabama for 2nd Degree Sodomy and 2nd Degree Rape. Further, Coleman has outstanding warrants in Bay County, Florida for Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and two counts of Domestic Battery (Felony).
July 14, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today the arrest of Micky Louis Mayon, who was being sought by local authorities in Dauphin County for his alleged role in a criminal incident in April 2007. This case captured a significant amount of media attention, to include the television program America’s Most Wanted.
July 13, 2009 - The Eastern District of Louisiana (E/LA) United States Marshals Service is reaching out to the Hollygrove Community through the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.) by sponsoring a summer camp in conjunction with the Trinity Christian Community Center (TCC) from July 13-17, 2009, at 3908 Joliet St. New Orleans, LA.
July 10, 2009 - Ezekiel Ochoa was arrested by officers of the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force from the Smith County DA’s Office the Texas Rangers and the U.S. Marshals Service. Ochoa was wanted out of Cherokee County Georgia on a warrant for rape. The warrant was issued on June 29th in Cherokee County Georgia.
July 09, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, partnering with federal, state and local law enforcement, arrested 35,190 fugitives and cleared 47,418 warrants as part of Operation FALCON 2009 (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally), U.S. Marshals Service Director John F. Clark announced today. July 09, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 24 year-old Gerald Wilson at an associate’s residence located on East McMicken Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio. Wilson is accused of shooting and killing Kenneth Gaines and Mark Davenport in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 3, 2009.
July 09, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges for a drive-by shooting has been arrested in Dublin, GA by the U.S. Marshals Service Savannah office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Marston Lawrence Tolin was listed as a Most Wanted Fugitive in Oklahoma and had been profiled on television there.
July 08, 2009 - Clayton Douglas Shoemate, 38, of Austin was arrested in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico by Immigration authorities. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force met Shoemate at the Port of Entry in Eagle Pass, Texas and was arrested for an outstanding January 2008 charge arising from the Austin Police Department alleging Shoemate was involved in sexual assaults against a child.
July 06, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) announces the arrest of Jacob Keller by Law Enforcement counterparts in Piedras Negas, Coahuila, Mexico. Information was developed by the Task Force that Keller was located just across the border in Piedras Negras. Jacob Keller was charged in San Antonio, Texas with Capital Murder. Keller is accused of fatally shooting two individuals at a Southside Gentlemen’s Club.
July 06, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested Pedro Sanchez after developing information that Sanchez may be hiding out in San Antonio. Pedro Sanchez was charged in San Antonio, Texas with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Sanchez is accused of stabbing the former boyfriend of Sanchez’s girlfriend.
July 01, 2009 - On June 30th members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in Houston arrested sixty year old James Francis at the Best Classic Suites in North Houston. Francis was Wanted by the Lafayette Police Department for 2nd Degree Murder.
July 01, 2009 - Almost one year after escaping from federal custody, U.S. Marshals have arrested the lone remaining escapee who fled from Bureau of Prisons’ custody in July 2008. United States Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that Derrick Wilson was taken into custody by USMS personnel in Atlanta, GA. He was wanted for his July 20, 2008 escape from the Federal Prison Camp on the grounds of the United States Penitentiary at Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
June 30, 2009 - Investigators from the United States Marshals Service’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from officers of the Atlanta Police Department, arrested AMW fugitive Jonathan “Q-Genius” Quaweay at an apartment complex in Atlanta, GA.
June 30, 2009 - A child who was abducted by his father was rescued by U.S. Marshals, Delaware State Police and Mount Laurel, NJ police. This kidnapping triggered an amber alert for much of Saturday. Zion Duprey, 5 was found at the Westin Hotel in Mount Laurel, NJ early Tuesday morning. Zion Duprey was abducted by his father, Angel Duprey, on Saturday, June 27 from his home in Lincoln, Delaware.
June 29, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals in Houston arrested Cornelius Kelly at a Department Store located inside a shopping mall.  Kelly was Wanted for multiple drug related charges in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana as well as Beaumont, Texas.  Further, Kelly had recently appeared for trial in one of his drug cases in St. Mary Parish and requested a continuance.  When the judge denied the continuance, Kelly never returned.
June 26, 2009 - On June 25th U.S. Marshals arrested twenty-five-year-old Jose Santos in Miami nearly one week after Santos allegedly kidnapped his fifteen-year-old girlfriend. St. Mary filed charges against Santos on Tuesday, June 23rd for Aggravated Kidnapping.
June 25, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 26 year-old Fonta Whipple and 25 year-old Jashawn Clark at a Holiday Inn in Covington, Kentucky. Whipple and Clark are accused of critically injuring Derryan Holland by shooting him multiple times with an AK-47 rifle in Lockland, Ohio on June 22, 2009.
June 24, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announces the capture of fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27, along with the capture of associate Candace Watson, 24, and the safe recovery of 4 year old missing child Haylee Donathan. Yesterday, a tip was received by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, who then quickly responded to a Christian retreat center in Valley Center, Calif., where they were able to apprehend Potter and Watson and safely recover little Haylee without incident.
June 22, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested John William Bennett in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Bennett was being sought for his role in a 10 day crime spree in Berwick, Pennsylvania during April and May 2009. Bennett was being sought on three separate arrest warrants signed by Magisterial District Judge Richard P. Cashman in Berwick, Pennsylvania.
June 20, 2009 - After an exhaustive search, members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force and investigators from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Lisa Monica Gonzalez, AKA Monica Torres, who was on the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Gonzalez was wanted for two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in Oklahoma. Gonzalez was arrested today in Bellflower after giving a false name.
June 19, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is continuing the search for fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend, Candace Watson, 24, and her 4-year-old daughter, Haylee Elizabeth Jade Donathan. June 19, 2009 - After an exhaustive three day manhunt, members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and investigators from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 21 year old Stephen Michael Krimmel of Crawfordville, FL for the offenses of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Narcotics Possession.
June 18, 2009 - Wanted fugitive Deondray Crayton was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Crayton was wanted for failing to appear for his arraignment on a federal weapons charge. Crayton was featured on Channel 3 News, and in Cleveland’s Plain Dealer as the Fugitive of the Week during the week of May 18, 2009.
June 17, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team/Cincinnati SWAT arrested Alfonzo Stevenson in Cincinnati, Ohio. Stevenson was sought by the Cincinnati Police Department for 6 Felony charges and some other miscellaneous charges. Those charges included Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Theft, Harassment, Weapons under Disability, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Retaliation against a Witness.
June 17, 2009 - Twenty-One year old Jacolby Westley from Jeanerette was arrested yesterday evening by the U.S. Marshals in Sacramento, CA. Westley was Wanted by St. Mary Parish for a numerous charges including: Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Battery, and Illegal Discharging of a Firearm. Further, Iberia Parish has an active Warrant against Westley for Armed Robbery with a Firearm.
June 17, 2009 - Karen Simons, Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Illinois, received a Distinguished Honorable Mention today as a nominee for the 2009 Women in Federal Law Enforcement Award. Chief Deputy Simons was nominated for her superior level of performance and as a role model for other women in law enforcement.
June 16, 2009 - Tomas Cordero aka Tomas Alcoser was arrested by officers of the U.S. Marshals Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team today. Cordero was wanted out of the 114th District Court in Smith County Texas on a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The warrant was issued July 16th 2008 pursuant to an indictment.
June 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is now confirming the suspected truck in the case of fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27, was captured on a surveillance camera at an Ampride gas station in Stratton, Colorado on June 2. This is the last confirmed sighting of the truck since it was previously seen at a Wal-Mart in Marion, Ohio on May 31. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend, Candace Watson, 24, and her 3-year-old daughter, Haylee Elizabeth Jade Donathan.
June 15, 2009 - Azarias Anthony Austin was arrested by officers of the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force in Longview, TX. Austin was wanted by the Albuquerque New Mexico Police Department on arrest warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Firearm), Assault with Intent to Commit a Violent Felony, Robbery, Tampering with Evidence and Conspiracy.
June 11, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service and the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender & Violent Crime Task Force announce its new FUSION Center for sex offenders. In May 2009, the NWA Task Force relocated from its Springdale location to the new U. S. Marshals Service office located in the Federal Building at 35 E. Mountain Street, Fayetteville. The new location now offices the NWA Fugitive Task Force and the FUSION Center, which enables sex offenders throughout Northwest Arkansas to report to a central location for registration, address changes, and other updates.
June 11, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is on the hunt for fugitive Robbi Douglas Potter, 27. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend and her 3-year-old daughter. Potter is wanted on a state warrant for parole violation and on a federal warrant for probation violation. Potter is a convicted Tier III sex offender for crimes of sex offense of a minor.
June 10, 2009 - Members of the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and the Dearborn Police Department arrested homicide suspect Adnan Almayahi in Detroit, MI. Almayahi is suspected of murdering his girlfriend, Tiffany Nicole Williams, in Jacksonville, FL.
June 09, 2009 - Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath and U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announce the arrest of violent fugitive Khalid K. Swanson. Swanson, age 34, was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant dated April 30, 2009, charging him with robbery, kidnapping, having weapons under disability, trafficking drugs, drug possession and possession of criminal tools.
June 03, 2009 - Dr. Michael Bourke, Chief Psychologist for the U.S. Marshals Service Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), received an award from the United Kingdom’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) in London on May 20, 2009. Dr. Bourke and his colleague, Dr. Andres Hernandez, were recognized for their “outstanding example of research into the behaviors of child sexual offenders.”
June 02, 2009 - Working on information developed from Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigators, the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force captured Wendell Ray Hurley who is wanted for the murder of Timothy Thames of Blue Angel Lane.
June 02, 2009 - After a week on the run, U.S. Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force members arrested twenty five year old Rufus L. Lee of Perry, Florida for the offenses of 1st Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, and Armed Robbery.

May 29, 2009 - 15 Most Wanted Addition - The U.S. Marshals Service announced today the addition of a Memphis man, who is wanted in Tennessee for first-degree murder and criminal attempt first-degree murder, to its list of 15 Most Wanted fugitives. Robert Lee King, 45, allegedly murdered his girlfriend and attempted to murder her 20-year-old daughter.


May 29, 2009 - The United States Marshals have arrested a female subject who was wanted for a homicide in Chester, PA. Danya A. Johnson, 34 of Wilmington was wanted for a homicide that occurred on January 2, 2009 at approximately 3:30 pm.
May 22, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested three wanted felons within 12 hours of each other, all being sought on shooting charges including one from Seattle, Washington.
May 21, 2009 - Cuyahoga County Sheriff Robert Reid, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath and U.S. Marshal Peter Elliott announce the arrest of violent fugitive Osvaldo Ortiz. Ortiz was apprehended as he de-boarded a plane at JFK International Airport in New York. Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, made famous in the current A&E television series Manhunters, acted swiftly on information provided to them this morning by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in an effort to arrest Ortiz.
May 20, 2009 - The U.S. Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, along with patrol and K-9 units from the Tallahassee Police Department, responded to an urgent Crime Stoppers tip early this morning which resulted in the arrest of one of Tallahassee’s most wanted men. Ion Cloud, nineteen years of age, had been the target of a multi-agency manhunt since the Leon County Sheriff’s Office identified Cloud as a subject of interest in the Circle K / McDonalds shooting that occurred on March 29, 2009.
May 15, 2009 - Southern District of Ohio United States Marshal James Wahlrab, Northern District of Ohio United States Marshal Peter Elliott, and Columbus Division of Police Chief Walter Distelzweig announce the arrest of murder suspect George Holston III. Holston was arrested at a home in Canton, OH. Holston is charged with the murder of Gerald Fuller. According to the criminal complaint, on December 20, 2008, Holston and the victim got into an altercation at a home on in Columbus. Holston allegedly took out a handgun and shot the victim in the chest. Holston was formally charged with the murder on December 22, 2008, and he was one of the Central Ohio Crime Stoppers 10 most wanted fugitives.
May 14, 2009 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force had an early morning start after traveling from Tallahassee, FL to Eastpoint, FL in search of Anthony Joseph Erario. Erario was wanted by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in Florida for the offense of Capital Sexual Battery on a Child under the Age of 12. Task Force members located the 63 year old Erario at a residence in Franklin County where he was arrested by task force members without incident.
May 14, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service is pleased to announce that fugitive John Baldasaro was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in New York City. Baldasaro was located in Manhattan, NY and arrested on numerous outstanding warrants from throughout New England. The investigation by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force started after being contacted by the Chesterfield (NH) Police Department. The Chesterfield Police Department stated that someone had impersonated a U.S. Marshal to kidnap and rob multiple victims. This suspect was later identified as John Baldasaro.
May 14, 2009 - A man wanted by NYPD for homicide was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force based in Roanoke and the Roanoke Police Department. Hector Barrington-Stephenson, 29, from Bronx, New York, was arrested without incident in Roanoke. Barrington-Stephenson was wanted by NYPD on outstanding warrants for homicide, criminal possession of a firearm, drug distribution and felony assault from another alleged shooting incident in New York.
May 13, 2009 United States Marshal Federico L. Rocha of the Northern District of California announced the arrest of Juan Morales Jauregui.  On May 7, 2009 Juaregui, age 38, was arrested in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico on a federal arrest warrant for violation of 18 U.S.C 1073 (Flight to avoid prosecution).  Jauregui was transported to a prison in Mexico City where he will undergo extradition proceedings to the United States.
May 13, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Marshals led-Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) arrested Christopher Lyons, 46, in the area of Country Club and Juanita Ave in Mesa. Lyons was wanted by the Arizona Department of Corrections for violating the conditions of his parole, after having been convicted of failing to register as a Sex Offender.
May 13, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 32 year-old Courtney Givan in Cincinnati, Ohio. Givan is accused of shooting Jervarion Wright at an apartment complex in Montgomery, Alabama on May 09, 2009. Givan has a lengthy criminal record that includes felony assaults and robberies.
May 12, 2009 - Luis Sanchez Jr., age 21, was arrested this morning by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Newark Police Department. SOFAST is a team of law enforcement officers led by the United States Marshals Service. An arrest warrant for Sanchez was issued in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 11, 2009 for Rape of a Child, Distributing Obscene Material to a Minor, two counts of Enticing a Child Under 16, Indecent Exposure, and Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14.
May 12, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Leon County Sheriff’s Department in Tallahassee, Florida was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, MACE Task Force, and Hinesville Police in Hinesville, Georgia on May 10, 2009.
May 12, 2009 -  A fugitive wanted by the U.S. Marshals in the Southern District of Georgia and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and SCMPD Patrol units on May 10 in Savannah, Georgia.
May 11, 2009 - Clifford Bart Dunbar, 48, of Austin was arrested over the weekend without incident by the U.S. Marshals in Grand Rapids, Mich. after Dunbar attempted to evade arrest by jumping out of a 3rd floor apartment window. A joint investigation by the Austin Police Department and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force determined Dunbar was under investigation by Austin Police Department for his alleged involvement in a recent sexual assault. Dunbar was additionally sought by authorities for allegedly violating his Texas parole last month.
May 08, 2009 - A man wanted by Bedford County authorities for the attempted murder of a Bedford City Police officer was arrested this afternoon in Fayetteville, NC. Brian Aubrey Burnette, 31, was charged by the Bedford City Police on April 17 with the attempted capital murder of a detective who was attempting to arrest him on outstanding felony warrants. Burnette allegedly stuck the officer with his vehicle while fleeing.
May 06, 2009 - With information developed by the U.S. Marshals First State Fugitive Task Force, a fugitive wanted by the Wilmington Police Department was arrested at a residence in Brooklyn, N.Y. by members of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. Allen J. Taylor, 36 years of age, had been wanted for first degree murder, possession of a firearm during a felony, and illegal possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. These charges stemmed from a slaying that occurred on August 18, 2008 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Wednesday to Saturday. This program, led by the U.S. Marshals Service, worked with numerous government agencies, faith-based and non-profit communities to encourage people with outstanding warrants to surrender at a faith-base setting.
May 01, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Georgia Homicide Suspect Jerry Robert Hobbs.  In 1989 it is believed that Hobbs former girlfriend, Dianne Quinsenberry was removed from a Battered Women’s Shelter in Cairo, Ga. It is alleged that Quinsenberry was beaten to death although her body has never been recovered. Recently Investigator’s with the Thomas County Georgia Sheriff’s Office developed evidence that caused a warrant to be issued for Hobbs.
May 01, 2009 - Investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force arrested Christopher Rogers, 19, at an apartment complex in Baton Rouge this morning. Rogers was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for his role in several violent robberies. Rogers was wanted in Ascension Parish for five counts of attempted First Degree Murder, six counts of Armed Robbery, six counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property stemming from multiple incidents that took place in March. Additionally, Rogers is alleged to have committed attempted Second Degree Murder on February 2, 2009 when he shot at a victim several times in Baton Rouge.
April 29, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Camari Warmack, age 28, at an apartment on the 500 block of South Abbe Road. Warmack is wanted on homicide charges stemming from an incident which occurred in May of last year in Detroit, Michigan.
April 29, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is pleased to announce the addition of three new agencies to its membership. April 28, 2009 - United States Marshal James M. Wahlrab announces the arrest of Marvin Myers. Myers was indicted in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas on a first degree felony charge of rape of a child under the age of 13. Myers was also charged with a third degree felony charge of gross sexual imposition.
April 27, 2009 - Thirteen East Texas law enforcement officers have joined the ranks of the U.S. Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force. The ceremony took place today at 1:00 p.m. in the historic courtroom of the recently renovated Harrison County Courthouse.
April 24, 2009 - On Monday, April 27th, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. the United States Marshals Service Gang Resistance and Education Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program will hold a graduation for two sixth grade classes of forty seven students. The graduation will take place at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Charter School for Science and Technology, located at 1617 Caffin Avenue New Orleans, Louisiana. The attending students successfully completed a thirteen lesson G.R.E.A.T. curriculum instructed by Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the Eastern District of Louisiana.
April 24, 2009 - A man wanted for murder in Palm Beach County, Florida was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) based in Roanoke and the Martinsville Police Department yesterday evening. Michael S. Marquardt, age 38, formerly of Boynton Beach was wanted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for First Degree Murder with a Firearm, Armed Robbery and Accessory After the Fact.
April 22, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office announce the arrest of Donna Wilson Hanna, age 47. Hanna was arrested on federal charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution, which is directly associated with Hanna’s State charges of Interference with Custody, a class D Felony in Arkansas. At the time of arrest, Hanna’s daughter was placed in the custody of a court appointed attorney. Hanna had been on the run since March 29, 2009, when she fled Arkansas with her daughter.
April 22, 2009 - While executing a search warrant investigators and Deputy U.S. Marshals recovered a fully-loaded automatic rifle, numerous rounds of ammunition and other loaded hand guns from the hotel room of the murder suspect they apprehended yesterday after having to shoot him, according to the Marshals Office in Florida's Middle District.
April 21, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, Western Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jason Foerster, age 34. On April 20, 2009, Investigators with the Task Force received a tip indicating Foerster, who was wanted for a Federal Parole Violation resulting in a recent arrest by the Fort Smith Police Department. On March 14, 2009 Foerster was arrested by the Fort Smith Police Department and charged with Robbery, Fleeing, Loitering and Carrying a Weapon.
April 21, 2009 - Thomas Ford McCoy wanted in connection for the murder of a DeFuniak Springs man less than two weeks ago was apprehended earlier today by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force when he was shot by a Deputy after McCoy pulled a gun on task force officers.
April 18, 2009 - The Converse County Sheriff’s Office operating with assistance from the Douglas Police Department arrested federal fugitive Jeffery Doles at the Plains Motel in Douglas, Wyo., Friday, April 17. Doles was sentenced in federal court in 2007 for possession of narcotics equipment. However, when he failed to appear at the designated facility to begin serving his sentence, a warrant was issued for contempt of court and failure to self surrender.
April 17, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, Western Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Rex Ellis Allen, age 49. At approximately 7:30 p.m. on April 16, 2009, Investigators with the Task Force developed information indicating Allen, who was wanted for Parole Violations - Petition to Revoke his Suspended Sentence and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, was in Mountainburg, Arkansas.
April 16, 2009 - In the early evening hours of Tuesday, April 14, 2009, members of the United States Marshals’ Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive Nelson Guajardo in the parking lot of the Spring Hills Suites motel in Pittsburg, PA. Guajardo was wanted by authorities in Clayton County, Georgia for numerous charges including Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.
April 15, 2009 - The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Cleveland Division of Police arrested wanted fugitive Matthew Carson. Carson was wanted in the State of New York by the City of Rochester Police Department on charges of 2nd degree murder. The Task Force was notified by Deputy U.S. Marshals in the Rochester area that they developed information which led them to believe that Carson had fled to Ohio and was hiding in the Cleveland area.

April 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals announce the capture of Joseph Elias George Ettima, 25, one of the service’s 15 Most Wanted fugitives. Ettima was arrested by Mexican authorities Monday in Mexico City and deported to Los Angeles late last evening.   Ettima was wanted in California in connection with the murder of his grandmother. Along with the homicide charge, he is also wanted for robbery, arson, child endangerment and parole violation.


April 15, 2009 - In December of 2008, the United States Marshals DFW FAST initiated “Operation Rain” focusing on sex offenders, specifically those involved in sexual crimes against children as well as non-registered sex offenders that could be prosecuted under the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act.  “Operation Rain” , which stands for Research, Arrest, Indict, Now was divided into two phases. DFW FAST “Researched” numerous felony warrants and during Phase I identified sex offenders wanted by various agencies within the Dallas & Fort Worth area.  On December 9, 2008, task force officers conducted an intensive three day enforcement effort to kick off the operation “Arresting” 34 of the initially identified offenders. 
April 11, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges for Child Abduction has been arrested by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Kansas City, Missouri. Kathleen Mitchell was being sought on warrants issued in Crawford County, Arkansas charging her with Failure to Appear and a Body Attachment Order. In August of 2007, Mitchell was granted her first non-supervised weekend visit with her two children since they were placed into the custody of the State of Arkansas in June of 2006. At that time, Mitchell abducted the two children and left the area with the children and has been on the run since that time.
April 10, 2009 - On April 4th, 2009, after 18 years as a fugitive, Edward Charles Woods was captured by members of the United States Marshals Service, Operation Intercept Fugitive Task Force in Columbia, South Carolina. Woods was arrested and charged with Indecency with a Child in Williamson County in 1990.
April 10, 2009 – A Florida woman wanted in connection for an armed robbery and battery on an elderly person was apprehended today by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force in Texas. Tracey Konewko was caught boarding a car ferry that crosses over Galveston Bay in Galveston, TX. The 45 year old Konewko of Escambia County is being sought for her participation of an armed robbery and battery of an 81 year old man that took place at his home March 12 of this year. According to sheriff’s reports the victim allowed Konewko and an unidentified man into his home in Pensacola, where she lured him into a back room of the home and they both attacked him. The victim tried to fight back and he was pistol whipped and then shot in the abdomen before they fled with his wallet.
April 10, 2009 – Michael Angelo Young was arrested without incident at a relative’s home on Wednesday, April 8. Young, 29, was the subject of Wyandotte County, KS warrants for First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery. The warrants stem from a shooting incident that occurred in October 2008. He was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting extradition proceedings. The Marshals’ fugitive task force, Operation Intercept, received information on Tuesday that Young was possibly staying at a residence on Emerald Shores Circle in Chapin. Lexington County investigators and Deputy Marshals initiated an investigation and were able to locate him at the residence the following night. SLED agents and Richland County Sheriff’s deputies also aided in the apprehension.
April 09, 2009 - Edward Porta, a former resident of the Spartanburg area, was the President of Porta Textiles and Porta Technologies, companies with extensive business contacts within the North American textile industry. On December 20, 2005, Porta pled guilty in the U.S. District Court in Asheville, North Carolina to the charge of Conspiracy to Defraud the U.S. Department of Agriculture. On May 2, 2007, Porta was sentenced to 38 months imprisonment for his role in the elaborate cotton import/export scheme that defrauded the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as well as banks and businesses in the U.S. and Mexico, to the tune of over 2.5 million dollars. On February 25, 2008, Porta was discovered missing following a scheduled prisoner count at the United States Penitentiary Lee County (VA) Satellite Camp. He has been on the run since that date and has been charged with Escape.
April 09, 2009 - Fort Smith, Arkansas - The U.S. Marshals and Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, a member of the River Valley Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Donald Dwyer, age 32.  At approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 8, 2009, the River Valley Task Force developed information indicating Dwyer, wanted for 2 counts of rape on a minor, was in Fort Smith.  By 2 p.m. the same day, Dwyer was in custody along with his girlfriend Heather Kissler, age 29, after being located at his cousins residence in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Kissler was charged on site for Hindering Apprehension and Obstruction of Government Operations by providing false statements to law enforcement about the whereabouts of Dwyer.
April 09, 2009 - A fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges of homicide by vehicle, great bodily injury by vehicle while intoxicated, and aggravated driving while intoxicated causing bodily injury, was arrested yesterday by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals and the New Mexico State Police.
April 09, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office worked together to capture a suspect who may be responsible for the death of a Pensacola man who was found shot to death in his car last year. Arthur James Roland was 28 years old at the time when he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car at about 7 p.m. on the evening of October 30. Escambia County Investigators had been working since then and recently issued a warrant for suspect Kenneth Eriby of North “V” Street in Pensacola. At 9:30 this morning at a motel located on Highway 29 in Pensacola the Task Force caught up with Eriby and arrested him without any problems. A female who was wanted locally on a Petit Theft misdemeanor warrant and two other local men who were also with Eriby at the time were also arrested on drug charges. According to investigators there may still be other suspects involved in Roland’s murder.
April 09, 2009 - On April 7, 2009, Kendrick Bell was arrested in Baton Rouge by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. Bell was wanted by the Baton Rouge City Police for two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, Illegal use of a Weapon, Assault by drive-by Shooting, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. Acting on a tip from a Confidential Source, MLFTF Investigators went to Bell’s last known address in the city of Baton Rouge. Bell was contacted, identified, and taken into custody without incident.  Bell was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
April 09, 2009 - On April 8, 2009, Christopher Taylor was arrested in Baton Rouge by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. Taylor was wanted by the Baton Rouge City Police for 2nd Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon in connection with the shooting death of Labaron Napoleon on June 27, 2008. Napoleon was found shot to death and dumped in Baton Rouge. The murder is believed to be drug-related. 
April 08, 2009  - On Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at approximately 9:30am, Deputy U.S. Marshals and Strike Team Officers of the United States Marshals Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, and the United States Marshals Western Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, Shreveport, Louisiana, arrested Tummy Crenshaw and Gary Hogg in Shreveport, Louisiana. Crenshaw and Hogg were wanted by the Dallas Police Department on charges of capital murder stemming from a robbery and murder of the victim on March 23, 2009.
April 08, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the United States Marshals in the Southern District of Georgia was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Orlando Office of Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department on April 7, 2009, in Leesburg, Florida.
April 06, 2009 - Edward Woods was arrested without incident on Saturday, April 4. Woods, also known as Edward Aiken, was the subject of a 1991 Williamson County (TX) warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on an original charge of Indecency with a Child. He had been on the run for 18 years. Woods, 42, was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting extradition proceedings. The Marshals fugitive task force, Operation Intercept, received information from Texas last week that Woods was possibly living off of Biddle Road in Lexington. Lexington County Investigators and Deputy Marshals in Columbia began surveillance shortly after receiving the information and were able to apprehend Woods.
April 06, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and Benton County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jeremy Daniel Stewart, age 25. Stewart was arrested on April 2, 2009, in Bentonville, Arkansas just hours after the Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a credible tip from Texas regarding Stewart’s whereabouts. Following a vehicle pursuit in Bentonville, where Stewart was living as an unregistered sex offender, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and members of the NWA Fugitive Task Force arrested Jeremy Daniel for a Washington State felony warrant, among other local charges.
April 06, 2009 - Almost four weeks on the run for an elusive Southerland man came to a crashing halt near Savannah, Georgia yesterday. Larry Wayne Dodson, Jr., who escaped from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg on March 10, was captured after a high speed chase, crash and foot pursuit that recovered the fugitive hiding in a shed at a cell tower in rural Chatham County.  With a task force comprised of U.S. Marshals, Lynchburg Police, and Blue Ridge Jail Authority investigators hot on his heels, Dodson was tracked and arrested without further incident. 

April 04, 2009 - Thomas Outing was arrested without incident in Philadelphia, PA just after 11:00 this morning. Outing was the subject of a Lexington County warrant for murder. He was booked into a local jail awaiting extradition proceedings. Lexington County Investigators and Deputy Marshals in Columbia tracked Outing to Philadelphia early last week and provided that information to Deputy Marshals in Philadelphia.


April 03, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state and federal charges of murder, kidnapping, and probation violation (with an underlying charge of convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm) has been apprehended by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Albuquerque and Austin, TX.
April 03, 2009 - A man who was a victim of an aggravated battery last week in Louisiana died Wednesday afternoon after being taken off life support. The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested David Erin Nelson last week at his home in Crestview, FL who was accused of aggravated battery after he sucker-punched a man for no apparent reason knocking him out, losing consciousness never to wake up again. Nelson was taken into custody by the Task Force at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday while he was standing in the street outside of his home in Crestview. Nelson was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Louisiana. Okaloosa Deputies served the 2nd Degree Murder warrant on Nelson yesterday at the Okaloosa County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to Louisiana.
April 02, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended fugitive Marvell Jones (age 20) this morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. in Elyria, Ohio, after a short foot pursuit.  An alert Task Force Officer observed Jones walking toward South Park Apartments on Middle Avenue in Elyria.  When approached by the Task Force, Jones attempted to flee on foot and threw a loaded firearm to the ground.  Task Force Officers swiftly overwhelmed Jones and he was apprehended without further incident behind a residence near Maple Street and Middle Avenue in Elyria. 
April 02, 2009 - A level 3 Sex Offender wanted by The Washington State Department of Corrections and by the Snohomish County, Washington Sheriff’s Office has been arrested.  Eric Eugene Hartwell, 46, was wanted for Escape Community Custody and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  Hartwell was arrested in Carrollton, Texas by Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Dallas/Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Task Force based on information provided by Deputy U.S. Marshals working for the newly created Sex Offender Investigations Branch in Seattle, WA. 
April 01, 2009 - On the morning of April 1, 2009 the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force with the cooperation of the Cleveland Division of Police conducted a sweep of the city for offenders with outstanding warrants for domestic violence.  During the course of the sweep, members of the Task Force followed up on a lead that was sent by Deputy Marshals from the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT) in the Detroit, Michigan office for a fugitive wanted for criminal sexual assault.  The warrant was issued by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for a juvenile male for three counts of criminal sexual assault, kidnapping and a probation violation for felony robbery.
March 30, 2009 - U.S. Marshals are searching for two Sioux City men who are charged with weapons  violations.  Justin Albertsen, has been charged with being a user of illegal drugs while being in possession of a firearm. Albertsen, 21, is described as 6' 00" tall and 230 pounds and has a large tattoo of "WSL 13" on the back of his neck.  Rocky Grimaldo, has been charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, conspiracy to possess a firearm by a convicted felon and possession and conspiracy to possess a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Grimaldo, 24, is described as 5' 10' tall and 240 pounds. Grimaldo has numerous tattoos on his arms, chest and forearms.
March 30, 2009 – Two suspected murderers were arrested this afternoon by the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force in Baton Rouge. Anthony Michael Hatcher, 18, and Dominique Vallier, 17, were wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department on multiple warrants for violent offenses stemming from shootings that occurred in the Boulevard de Province area. The duo was also charged with other individual robbery counts and Hate Crimes charges for specifically targeting Hispanic victims due to their nationality.
March 30, 2009 -  A fugitive wanted by the Drug Enforcement Administration was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and SCMPD Precinct 5 officers on March 30, 2009, in Savannah, Georgia.  Antonio Woodley was being sought on a federal warrant Conspiracy to sell Cocaine and Sale of Cocaine by the Drug Enforcement Administration issued in November 2008.  The case was referred to the Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest him.  A joint investigation was conducted by both the Marshals Task Force and the DEA to locate Woodley.  Woodley had been in hiding since November 2008.  Woodley was thought to still be in the Savannah area.  On March 28, 2009, information generated by the DEA and Marshals Task Force investigation lead to an address in Savannah.  Marshals Task Force investigators and SCMPD Precinct 5 officers went to Savannah, Georgia and found and arrested  Woodley.     
March 29, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force was busy this week after arresting five wanted felons.  The arrests included capturing an escapee who fled from a custody in Massachusetts after jumping out of a second story window; and another who beat a up a man who is still unconscious.  
March 26, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on March 26, 2009, in Statesboro, Georgia.  Jeffrey Maurice Jones was being sought on a state warrants for Sale of Cocaine (2 charges) and Unlawful Use of a Communication Facility issued by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department in Pembroke, GA. Jones had eluded capture by the Sheriff’s Department on more than one occasion. The Bryan County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Jones.
March 25, 2009  – U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the recipient of the 2008 Wayne Leon Task Force Officer of the Year Award for the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.  This year’s award will be presented to Deputy Sheriff Mark McElroy of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.  Deputy McElroy was selected as the winner of this prestigious award based upon his investigative efforts with the Akron Division of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.  Deputy McElroy has spent the past 17 years as a law enforcement officer assigned to many different units with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.  He has performed professionally in every capacity beginning with his days on patrol and leading up to his current status as the liaison between the Summit County Drug Unit and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.  Deputy McElroy has been part of the Task Force for the past 3 years and has proven to be a true asset with his knowledge and ability of fugitive apprehension.
           
March 25, 2009 - The Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a man wanted on a warrant charging him with two counts of Sexual Battery on a Victim Under the Age of 12 and two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior/Molestation on a Victim Under 12 Years of Age. The fugitive, Pedro Rolando Andrade-Romero was arrested without incident last night at a mobile home park around 8 p.m. by the Marshals Task Force. The warrant issued by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office charges that Andrade-Romero had allegedly molested a young girl several times during late 2008, as well as performing other lewd sexual acts of conduct during that time. 
March 24, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announced today that David McClary has been arrested. The 53 year-old McClary had been on the run for 25 years. In 1984 McClary was convicted of Rape, a first degree felony, and was sentenced to serve a prison term of 5 to 25 years.
March 24, 2009 - An America’s Most Wanted fugitive wanted on outstanding federal drug and racketeering charges has been arrested today in Boone, IA by the U.S. Marshals Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force (SIFTF).  Brandon Cheville (aka “Suicide”) was being sought on a federal arrest warrant issued in the Central District of California charging him with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine as well as violations of federal racketeering statutes.  Cheville is a reported member of the Mongols motorcycle gang and was featured on Fox’s America’s Most Wanted (AMW) in November 2008. 
March 24, 2009 - After an intense investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Alabama and the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Kansas man wanted on seven counts of failure to register as a sex offender.  Today, Isaac Miller of Junction City, Kansas was arrested at 16th Avenue South in Phenix City, Alabama.
March 24, 2009 -  John F. Clark, Director of the United States Marshals Service, provides remarks at the Lefkow Conference Room Dedication.  "Because of her courage to speak out and her advocacy for reform in the protection of judges, things started to happen.  Home intrusion alarms were funded by Congress and placed in hundreds of judge’s homes across the country.  The Marshals Service began to receive some much needed funding to hire more threat investigators, protection specialists, analysts as well as support for more training, equipment and yes, a modern facility to analyze, investigate and track threats, our Threat Management Center." 
March 23, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Intent to Commit a Violent Felony, Aggravated Burglary, and Bribery/Intimidation of a Witness has been arrested by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Lubbock, Texas.  James Michael Cantrell of Phoenix, Arizona was being sought on warrants issued in Santa Fe, New Mexico charging him with the numerous offenses. Cantrell fled New Mexico, and U.S. Marshals and members of the Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force (SWIFT) developed information that Cantrell was hiding in the Lubbock area. U.S. Marshals, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and members of the Dallas/Ft. Worth FAST Task Force responded to investigative leads from New Mexico and apprehended Cantrell at a residence in Lubbock without incident.
March 19, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals announce the arrest of Robert Tomczewski, a fugitive wanted out of the State of Maryland. Tomczewski was wanted in Maryland on outstanding charges of Parole Violation stemming from an original charge of homicide which occurred in 2000. Tomczewski was convicted of shooting an elderly male with a .22 caliber pistol during a burglary. Tomczewski was paroled in 2006 and was allowed to reside in the State of Ohio during his parole. Tomczewski violated his parole in December 2008 and fled Ohio and returned to Maryland to avoid arrest.
March 18, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, Walter Distelzweig, Chief for the City of Columbus Division of Police, and Franklin County Sheriff, James Karnes, announced today that Ishmael Bowers has been arrested. The 26 year-old Bowers was wanted on an alleged Aggravated Murder warrant.
March 18, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the North Dakota State Probation and Parole office was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on March 18, 2009, in Savannah, Georgia.  Joseph Lee Wells was being sought on a state warrant for Parole Violation issued by the North Dakota State Probation and Parole Office. The case was referred to the U.S. Marshals North Dakota Fugitive Task Force for assistance in arresting him on March 4, 2009.
March 13, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force spent Thursday night targeting violent offenders whose suspected crimes all involved battery charges including sexual battery, assault with weapons and even a suspect accused of a hate crime. There were about 20 officers working together out rounding up the wanted felons from FDLE, Escambia, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Offices as well as Ft. Walton Beach and Pensacola Police Departments who are members of the Marshals Task Force.
March 12, 2009 - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, and Walter Distelzweig, Chief for the City of Columbus Division of Police, announced today that Rodney M. Conley has been apprehended. The 47 year-old Conley was wanted by the City of Columbus Division of Police for Murder.
March 12, 2009 - After an intense investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Montgomery office arrested two brothers and a cousin suspected of the Tuesday March 10 shooting death of Cortavius Roberts in Shorter, AL.  Kemond J. Fortson and Kittrell A. Fortson surrendered to investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and the Montgomery Police Department yesterday. Today, investigators from the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 17 year old Lorenzo T. Fortson in Montgomery.
 March 10, 2009 - Michael McBride was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals - Sex
Offender Investigations Branch, and Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. This arrest was the culmination of a coordinated effort by the U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force, the New Hampshire State Police, U.S. Marshals from the District of Vermont, Middle District of Florida, the Sex Offender Investigations Branch, as well as the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. 
March 05, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the recipient of the 2008 Susan Graves Task Force Division of the Year Award for the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. This year’s award will be presented to the Youngstown Division of the Task Force. During 2008, the Youngstown Division of the Task Force arrested 1150 fugitives, including 14 arrests for homicide. The unit also seized 51 firearms, 425 rounds of ammunition, over $12,000 currency and approximately 1 kilogram of various illegal narcotics. The success of the Youngstown Division over the last year has been a true example of the results accomplished when our law enforcement partners work together to take violent fugitives off the streets.
March 05, 2009 - Valued at $7,800, a gold watch forfeited to the government after a Texas brother-sister cocaine bust by the Drug Enforcement Administration will be displayed to reporters at the Arlington Convention Center this Friday at a special press preview and walk-through. The watch and hundreds of other costly items valued at $3 million will be offered at auction on Saturday during the U.S. Marshals largest jewelry sale of 2009.
March 04, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals in Booneville, Kentucky on March 4, 2009.  Nathan Eric Cutchens was being sought on state warrants for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Auto Theft issued in Tattnall County, Georgia in January, 2009.

March 03, 2009 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested John Alan Lisenby in Mobile, Alabama. Lisenby was wanted by the Lanett Police Department for a Murder regarding the brutal stabbing death of his girlfriend Amanda Englehardt, which occurred in the early morning hours on Friday, February 27, 2009.
March 02, 2009 - Stanley Renard Tilley was arrested by the United State Marshals Service and the Winnsboro Police Department. A joint investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Texas Department of Public Safety had developed information that Tilley was located in Winnsboro, Wood County, Texas. Tilley was wanted by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office pursuant to a capital murder warrant issued on October 13, 2008.
February 27, 2009 - Randy Lewis was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Office and the Lafayette Police Department. Randy Lewis is Wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for Attempted Murder, Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office for two counts of Attempted Murder and is a suspect in another murder investigation with Jefferson Parish authorities.
February 25, 2009 - The Dayton arm of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested a female in Wilmington, Ohio. Kendra Rollins, 34, of Middletown, was arrested for aiding and abetting Rodney Young, a fugitive arrested by SOFAST in December 2008 for Murder.
February 25, 2009 - Robert Moore III was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force after being mistakenly released from the Cuyahoga County Justice Center a few days ago. Robert Moore was one of eight men indicted last Wednesday on charges of drug trafficking.
February 24, 2009 - A cold case murder investigation was closed today in Nashville with the arrest of former Puerto Rico resident Roberto Rodriguez-Pabon. Rodriguez-Pabon, age 27, was wanted by the Puerto Rico Police Department for the car-jacking and Murder of Jorge Echevarria-Medina on August 31, 2001 in the city of Ponce.
February 24, 2009 - Today the people of Central Ohio rest a little easier with the capture of five fugitive sex offenders. Last week Columbus television station WBNS Channel 10 along with Central Ohio Crime Stoppers profiled 10 of the most wanted fugitives in the Columbus area. The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, S.O.F.A.S.T., a U.S. Marshals Service led task force comprised of federal, state, and local law enforcement organizations, was on the street simultaneously making the arrests.
February 23, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, SCMPD K-9, and SCMPD Precinct 4 officers in Savannah, Georgia. Roosevelt Brown, 47, was being sought on a state warrant for Burglary.
February 20, 2009 - On February 19, 2009, a first of its kind task force targeting sex offenders conducted their inaugural field operations in the Middle District of Louisiana. The U.S. Marshals Service led Sex Offender Locate and Arrest Team (SOLAT), a component of the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force (MLFTF), was developed in October of 2008 as an initiative to assist law enforcement agencies in locating sexual offenders that relocate to areas outside the investigators normal jurisdiction without complying with registration requirements.
February 20, 2009 -  U.S. Marshal Patrick E. McDonald, U.S. Marshal for the District of Colorado announced Mexican Immigration officials and deputy U.S. Marshals worked together to arrest a U.S. Parole violator in Mexico after 6 years on the run.   Scott David Steel was wanted by the U.S. Marshals for a U.S. Parole Violation and was arrested by Mexican Immigration officials. Steel was originally convicted for murdering a man camping in Glacier National Park in 1984.
February 20, 2009 -  A man wanted in New Jersey for two counts of attempted homicide was arrested this afternoon by members of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF).  Andrew Coates is wanted by the New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (NY/NJ RFTF) and the Trenton, New Jersey police department for two counts of Criminal Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault and Weapons Offenses.
February 19, 2009 - The Dayton arm of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Strike Team (SOFAST) conducted a successful Misdemeanor Round-up February 17 and 18, 2009. Led by the U.S. Marshal Service in Dayton, the operation combined the manpower and efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies. The round up focused on capturing individuals wanted on misdemeanor charges including traffic, drugs, failure to appear and trespassing offenses that occurred on or around the Wright Patterson Air Force Base. SOFAST cleared 36 warrants which included 14 Physical Arrests and 7 Directed Arrests.
February 19, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested Norman Dean (DOB 12/06/76) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dean is accused of murdering Lavon Gaines on Hutchins Lane on May 11, 2007. Dean has a lengthy criminal record that includes felony assaults and drug possession.
February 18, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and members from Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Jason Lee Able, a fugitive who escaped from custody last night while he was at an urgent care facility in Destin, FL.
February 17, 2009 - Ian Gregory Thow, a 48 year old white male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF). Marshals located Thow at the Edge Loft Condominiums on Northwest Kearney Street in Portland. The OFTF, in conjunction with Seattle Marshals, developed information that Thow was hiding out in the Portland area. Thow had previously been living in Washington until he learned he was wanted by Interpol and Canadian authorities.
February 16, 2009 - Jacob Poole was arrested by the U.S. Marshals led Western District of Louisiana Fugitive Task Force with vital assistance from the Lafayette Police Department. Poole is Wanted by the Tulsa, Oklahoma Police Department for Bank Robbery. U.S. Marshals Task Force Officers along with the Lafayette Police Department identified Poole in Lafayette, LA and arrested him without incident.
February 15, 2009 - A California woman sought for the parental abduction of her two minor children was arrested this afternoon at the Nogales Port of Entry after more than 10 days on the run. Maria Velasquez, 31, was wanted on a felony warrant by the Pinal County Sheriffs Office for custodial interference. On February 04, 2009 Velasquez abducted her biological children, ages 8 and 9, as they left for school in Casa Grande, AZ.
February 13, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the arrest of Michael B. Dilla, apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Medina, Ohio. Dilla was wanted out of Florida for Assault – Felony Domestic Battery, Assault – Battery/Coerce by Retaliation and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force developed information that Dilla had fled to Ohio and requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force with locating and apprehending Dilla.
February 13, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Justin Hurd. Hurd was identified, by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, as a suspect in the February 4, 2008 triple homicide of Kevin Young, Kinshasha Wagstaff and Jasmine Hines.  Although murder warrants had not yet been issued for Hurd’s arrest, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police contacted Ohio law enforcement agencies, for officer safety reasons, and briefed them on Hurd. 
February 12, 2009 - Members of the Mesa Police Department’s Major Felons Unit and the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Dwight Niblett at a residence in Mesa.  Dwight Niblett, 48, was wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with a murder that occurred in Los Angeles in July 2008.
February 12, 2009 - Thomas Pearce was arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Lake Charles Police Department’s SRT Team near Plum Street in DeRidder, Louisiana. Pearce has pending charges from Van Zandt County for Sexual Assault and Burglary.
February 12, 2009 - John Scott Gardner was arrested by U.S. Marshals and Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Deputies off Leger Road outside the city limits of Crowley, LA. Gardner was Wanted by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina for Sexual Assault of a Child.
February 10, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio and Huber Heights Chief of Police Robert Schommer, announce the arrest of Joseph Davis.  Davis was wanted by the Huber Heights Police Department for Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  On January 20th, Davis is alleged to have been involved in an altercation with his ex-girlfriend.  During the altercation, Davis is alleged to have viciously stabbed the woman.  After the near deadly assault, Davis fled the area before police could apprehend him.  
February 10, 2009 - 15 Most Wanted Addition - The U.S. Marshals announced today the addition of Joseph Elias George Ettima to the service’s 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Ettima is wanted in California in connection with the murder of his grandmother. Along with the homicide charge, he is also wanted for robbery, arson, child endangerment and parole violation. 
February 06, 2009 - John Chaisson and Sally Bernier were arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force including members from the Hillsborough & Strafford County (NH) Sheriff’s Offices, with the assistance of the Nashua, NH Police Department. Chaisson was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Worcester, MA; including Armed Robbery, and Assault. Bernier was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, as well as Narcotic Distribution and Possession.
February 06, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Georgia Department of Corrections has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Orlando office of the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force on February 5, 2009 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Elliott Crowl, 31, was being sought on a state warrant for Escape issued in Savannah, Georgia on January 30, 2009.
February 06, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Saratoga Springs, New York Police Department and the United States Marshals Service in the Northern District of New York was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task on February 6, in Savannah, Georgia. Jeffrey O’Dell, 34, was being sought on a state warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
February 05, 2009 - As a result of cooperative efforts by the U.S. Marshals Service, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, and Mesa Police Department, members of the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Oliver Maldonado, 25, in Mesa. Recently, a warrant was issued by the Maricopa County Superior Court for the arrest of Maldonado for Manslaughter.
February 05, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers arrested Vincent Barnett, 21, in Phoenix, AZ. Recently, a warrant was issued in San Diego for the arrest of Vincent Barnett for Rape by Intoxication, Rape in Concert, Kidnapping to Commit Rape or Sodomy and numerous other charges.
February 04, 2009 - Fernando Martinez, 36, of Kyle, Texas, was arrested in rural Hays County, Texas by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force with critical assistance from the Hays County SWAT Team. Martinez was charged in the United States District Court in Dallas, Texas with two counts alleging that Martinez possessed with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.
February 03, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force partnered with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and other task force member agencies in the hunt and capture of 28 year old Reginald Adams in San Antonio. On Jan 17, 2009, Adams was erroneously released from custody after a number of charges (including a murder charge) had been dismissed.
February 02, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the arrest of Ryan C. Thompson, apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Akron. Thompson was wanted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office out of Marion County, Ohio, where he is facing charges of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Parole Violation.
January 30, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals led- Arizona Warrant Apprehension Network and Targeted Enforcement Detail (AZ WANTED), Arizona Department of Public Safety - DPS (Violent Crimes Apprehension Team – VCAT), and Maricopa County Adult Probation (MCAP) arrested Anthony Soto in Phoenix, AZ. Anthony Soto was wanted for aggravated assault on a police officer.
January 30, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), arrested Tremell Jones a.k.a. “Jelly” (DOB 08/03/79) at his girlfriend’s house in Lockland, Ohio. Jones is wanted by the Fairfield Police Department for a home invasion robbery that took place in August 2008. Jones has an extensive criminal history including numerous arrests and convictions for assaults and drug trafficking.

January 28, 2009 - U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio James M. Wahlrab announces the arrest of Nelson B. Crawford, a fugitive wanted by the Eastern District of Missouri and by the Central District of California. On February 18, 1999, a warrant for the arrest of Crawford was issued by the Federal Court in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2001, a Federal Grand Jury in Los Angeles, California indicted Crawford for conspiracy to import cocaine and for importing cocaine into the United States.
January 27, 2009 - Two fugitives wanted by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Eastern North Carolina Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Bryan county Sheriff’s Department. Christopher Hair, 26 and Jena Sterno, 19, were being sought on warrants issued in Bryan County for Sale of Controlled Substances.
January 27, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Georgia Department of Corrections was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department was in Ridgeland, South Carolina on January 27, 2009. David W. Sikes, 39, was being sought on a warrant issued in Chatham County charging him with escape from the Coastal Transitional Center in Savannah, Georgia.
January 26, 2009 - The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) New Orleans office along with the New Orleans Police Department arrested Christopher Cyrus, 23, in New Orleans, LA. Cyrus was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) for 3 counts of aggravated burglary, simple burglary of a residence, attempted aggravated rape and a parole violation warrant issued by the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole.
January 26, 2009 - A Baton Rouge man wanted for the murders of Dustin and Beth Duncan was arrested this afternoon by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. Charles Young, 21, was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for the execution style double murder that occurred on January 7th. MLFTF Investigators began the investigation to locate Young shortly after the crime occurred.
January 26, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Terry Edward Hayes.  Hayes was arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshals and River Valley Task Force Officers in Van Buren, AR. Hayes, a local Fayetteville wrecker service business owner, was wanted by Washington County for aggravated assault on a family member, terrorist threatening, endangering the welfare of a minor, and possession of a firearm. Hayes is also a registered sex offender in Washington County, Arkansas.
January 26, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in Nichols, New York. Michael S. Every, 48, was being sought on a warrant after being indicted in Chatham County, Georgia charging him with nine counts of Child Molestation and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.
January 24, 2009 - Richard Malave, 28, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force including the Hillsborough County (NH) Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Cambridge, MA Police Department, and MA Probation Officers. Malave was arrested on two outstanding NH warrants, including First Degree Assault, Robbery, and a variety of other arrest warrants issued in Massachusetts.
January 23, 2009 - The United States Marshal Service CUFFED Fugitive Task Force in conjunction with Wayne County Sheriff Greg Farley announced the success of Operation “FIRST STRIKE.” This multi law enforcement initiative was a versatile operation that concluded in the arrest of twenty-three individuals that had outstanding fugitive warrants issued by the Magistrate Court of Wayne County.
January 23, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Marshals led-Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) as well as Officers from Avondale Police Department arrested Floyd Davidson, Jr. Davidson was wanted by Maricopa County Superior Court for failing to register as a sex offender and violation of his probation.
January 23, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the arrest of Michael Rodriguez. Rodriguez was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on January 21, 2009 in Toledo, Ohio. Rodriguez, 36, was wanted in Michigan for violating his Parole and for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. His original conviction in 2005 was for Rape.
January 23, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the capture of violent fugitive William Paige. Paige was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Lima Police Department. Paige was wanted on numerous felony charges including Armed Kidnapping of a Child, Attempted Armed Kidnapping of a Child, Stalking/ Assault, and Assault with a Firearm/Felon in Possession of a Firearm/Attempted Armed Kidnapping of a Child.
January 22, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Zachary M. Wisor. Wisor, a convicted sex offender, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals at an address in Beaufort, South Carolina, bringing to end a 2 week man hunt and what will soon be the safe return of 15 year-old runaway teen from Athens, Ohio who was reported missing on January 5th.
January 22, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers with the Arizona WANTED Fugitive Task Force, District of Colorado (Denver) and the Pueblo Police Department arrested Sean Clark, 33, in Pueblo, Colorado. Clark, a convicted sex offender, was wanted by the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department for violating the conditions of his probation, having originally been convicted of sexually assaulting a minor.
January 22, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Thunderbolt Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Bloomingdale Police Department. Russell Allan Green, 24, was being sought on a warrants issued in Thunderbolt, Georgia charging him Robbery, Cruelty to Children, and Simple Battery (Domestic Violence Act).
January 22, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals New Orleans Fugitive Task Force. Angela Fennell, 28, was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging her with Armed Robbery.
January 21, 2009 - Sex offender, Steven R. Jackson, is no longer able to hide thanks to the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Jackson was wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department for Failure to Provide Notice of Change of Address, and by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority (APA) for Parole Violation. Jackson was previously convicted of Rape.
January 20, 2009 - The last of the 3 suspects wanted in connection with a double-homicide that appeared to be leaning towards a cold case was arrested on Monday, January 19, 2009. Melvin C. Avina, 33, considered armed and dangerous was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force without incident.
January 18, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and Benton County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Patricia Thompson, age 43, and Larry Cook, age 69. Following a three week long investigation, and with the help of a confidential source developed by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson was arrested on January 17, 2009, in Benton County. Cook, a level 4 sex offender, who was traveling with Thompson, was also arrested.
January 17, 2009 - Jesse Sloan,39, was arrested in Fort Garland by members of the Fugitive Location and Apprehension Group (FLAG), the Alamosa Police Department, the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office, the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado State Patrol, and parole officers from the Colorado Department of Corrections. Sloan was wanted by the Colorado Department of Corrections for parole violation on original charges of escape and theft. Sloan had an extensive criminal history and was known to use aliases.
January 16, 2009 - The United States Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in Pensacola announces the arrest of a wanted sex offender and suspected rapist by the Marshals Office in Nashville, TN. Chad Alioth, 32, was wanted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Register and for Sexual Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
January 16, 2009 - U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrests fugitive pilot and four others on Tuesday, January 13, 2009.
January 16, 2009 - On 1/15/09, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, in Van Buren, AR received information there was a possible run-away victim from Columbus, Ohio in the Van Buren area staying with a man by the name of William Coles, a 39 year old white male.
January 15, 2009 - On January 14th, 2009, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) New Orleans office arrested David Stann, 26, at his residence in New Orleans, LA. Stann is the suspect of a homicide that occurred in Detroit, Michigan. Stann has been booked into the Orleans Parish prison and is waiting extradition to Detroit, Michigan.
January 14, 2009 - U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, James Wahlrab, and Acting Chief for the Columbus Division of Police, Antone Lanata announced today that Terron Demarr Jones has been apprehended. The 19 year old Jones was wanted by the Columbus Division of Police for Rape and Kidnapping. The warrants for Jones were issued after it was alleged that he brutally raped a female victim at gunpoint on January 11, 2008.
January 14, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Georgia Department of Corrections was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 officers and other Corrections officers. Jesse James Holliday (aka Jesse James Brandt), 38, was being sought on a warrant charging him with escape.
January 14, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested Demetrius Laron Ruff a.k.a. “Meaty” (DOB 12/06/76) during a felony traffic stop in Cincinnati, OH. Ruff is accused of murdering a 14 year-old juvenile in broad daylight in the Cumminsville neighborhood nearly two years ago.
January 14, 2009 - Fugitive Marcus Schrenker remains in the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital this morning receiving treatment for what appears to have been self-inflicted wounds to the wrist and forearm of his left arm. He is still under the custody of U.S. Marshals at this time. Schrenker was discovered approximately 10:00 p.m. last evening in a tent at the KOA campground near Quincy, Fla., in Gadsden County. 
January 13, 2009 - Jerel Carter, 18, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and Pflugerville Police in Pflugerville, Texas without incident. Carter was recently charged in Albuquerque, New Mexico for his alleged involvement in a November 2008 gang related shooting that left Irvin Samuels dead at the scene as a result of several gun shot wounds.
January 13, 2009 - This evening, members of a Florida-based U.S. Marshals Service task force found fugitive Marcus Schrenker at a campground near Quincy, Fla., in Gadsden County.  Acting on information received, a group of about 20 task force members, along with state and local authorities, approached a tent with Schrenker inside.
January 13, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service has assumed the lead federal agency role in the apprehension efforts surrounding missing pilot Marcus Schrenker, after state warrants were issued in Indiana charging Schrenker with securities fraud.  The U.S. Marshals Southern District of Indiana, headquartered in Indianapolis, and its Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, located in Chicago, are coordinating the agency’s apprehension efforts.
January 12, 2009 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of indicted Trotwood Ohio Shooter Michael Carr. An indictment had been returned against Carr by the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on four counts of Felonious Assault, two counts of having weapons under disability, and illegal possession of a firearm in liquor permit premises.
January 12, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and SCMPD Special Investigations Detective in Savannah, Georgia. Malcolm Xavier Tartt, 18, was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault by pointing a shotgun and threatening to shoot the victim.
January 12, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force partnered with the Texas Rangers and the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office in the hunt for a murder suspect that had shot three females.
January 09, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force spent Friday hitting the streets of San Antonio and surrounding communities looking for and apprehending multiple fugitives in various locations.
January 09, 2009 - Members of the United States Marshals Service Hornet’s Nest Fugitive Task Force arrested Alex Zavala-Morales, 48, in Charlotte on January 08, 2009 for four counts of third degree rape and endangering the welfare of a 15 year old girl.
January 09, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force is off to a busy start in 2009 after arresting five wanted felons, including two sex offenders.
January 08, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service would like to announce Columbus, Ohio federal fugitive Rebecca Parrett is the featured fugitive on www.amw.com, the website for America’s Most Wanted.  Rebecca Parrett is a felon who jumped her bond in March 2008 after being convicted in a high profile, $3 billion fraud case.
January 08, 2009 - U.S. Marshals in Southern California are more determined than ever to bring Frederick McLean to justice. McLean, an alleged sexual predator, is on the run and U.S. Marshals believe his crimes are so heinous they earned him a spot on the Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted fugitive list in 2006.
January 08, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service has arrested a Wilmington man wanted for a murder that occurred in the City of Wilmington during December. Wilmington Police were investigating a homicide of a man that occurred on December 10, 2008. The investigation revealed Morris J. Hudson, 27, was wanted for the homicide.
January 08, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals in Atlanta, acting on a tip from the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, arrested Robert Mayberry a.k.a. “One-Eyed Kenny” in Atlanta, GA. Mayberry is the leader of the “Grimmie” gang, which controlled the drug trade around Avondale for years. Mayberry is wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and Explosives on federal charges of Distribution of Heroin. Mayberry had been on the run for nearly two years.
January 07, 2009 - Latwan Brown, a 30 year old black male was arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Northern District of California at his mother’s residence on West Industrial Boulevard in Hayward, California. Brown has been charged in the shooting death of 31-year-old Darshawn Cross that took place at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Northeast Portland during a funeral for Cross’s grandmother.
January 06, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Jasper County, South Carolina Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Savannah, Georgia. Kelly Lamont Anderson, 32, was being sought on a warrants issued in Jasper County, South Carolina charging him with Trafficking in Crack Cocaine, Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and a warrant issued by the South Carolina Department of Parole for probation violation for a previous drug charge.
January 05, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals and Fayetteville Police Department, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jason Stallcup, age 37. Stallcup has a violent criminal past dating back to 2000, when he was arrested and convicted for several charges including kidnapping, burglary, and battery.
