Orlando, FL – The U.S. Marshals - Florida
Regional Fugitive Task Force announced the arrest of Jeffrey Lynn Dourvalle,
40, a convicted sexually violent predator from Alexandria, VA. Dourvalle was
wanted by the Alexandria, VA Police Department for Violation of Parole
relating to a previous conviction of rape. Dourvalle was arrested at
approximately 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at a family member’s
residence in East Orlando, Florida.
Dourvalle was originally convicted in 1999 for Strong Armed Rape in
Virginia. His victim was a child under the age of 13 years. Dourvalle was
sentenced to 20 years in prison for this unspeakable crime. This summer,
after completing 9 years of that sentence, Dourvalle was release on parole
and placed on electronic monitoring.
On October 7, 2008, Alexandria Police
Department issue a warrant for the arrest of Dourvalle after he apparently
cut-off the electronic monitoring band. Authorities believed he fled
Virginia, possibly heading to the Central Florida area where he has family
residing.
Members from the U.S. Marshals - Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and
deputies from the
Orange County Sheriff’s Office, developed
information of possible relatives residing in the East Orlando area. After
several days of surveillance, task force members moved in on 1642 and 1616
South Tanner Road, Orlando, FL. Dourvalle initially fled through the back
door of 1642 South Tanner Road into a wooded area where he was located and
taken into custody without incident. Dourvalle was booked into the Orange
County Jail to await extradition back to Virginia.
Each year, fugitive investigations carried
out by United States Marshals lead task force result in the apprehension of
approximately 34,000 federal fugitives. In fact, more federal fugitives are
arrested by U.S. Marshals than all other federal agencies combined. The U.S.
Marshals - Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, is a multi-agency team
comprised of officers from Orlando Police Department, Palm Bay Police
Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Orange, Seminole, and
Brevard County Sheriff’s Offices. The objective of this task force is to
locate and apprehend Central Florida’s most violent fugitives and sex
offenders.
