The United States Marshals Service has arrested an 18-year-old
Wilmington teenager who was wanted for escape from the Ferris
School, a juvenile secure care facility. Delaware State Police
obtained warrants for escape on May 27, 2006 for Brandon L. Tann,
18, of 911 C St., Wilmington, Delaware.
The First State Fugitive Task Force received information Tann was in
the Southbridge area of Wilmington. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on
today’s date, officers went to 515 S. Locust St., Wilmington. When
police knocked on the door, people inside the house locked the
dead-bolt to the already closed door. The people inside would not
allow police into the residence. After five minutes of banging on
the door, task force members were permitted inside of the house. A
search of the second floor revealed Tann hiding in a bedroom closet.
He was arrested without incident.
In addition to the escape charge facing Tann, he was wanted by
various police agencies for other crimes. On May 29, 2006, New
Castle County Police wanted Tann for burglary, assault, and other
related charges. On June 5, 2006, Wilmington Police wanted Tann for
resisting arrest, trespassing and motor vehicle charges. Tann was
also wanted by the Family Court of Delaware for Failure to Appear
for Sentencing.
Tann is being held at this time pending a court appearance.
