U.S. Marshal LaFayette Collins Will Hold A
Joint-Agency Press Conference Announcing The Results
Of Operation Falcon 2008 At 2:00 P.M. Today In The
4th Floor Conference Room Of The Federal Building
Located At 727 E. Durango In San Antonio.
San
Antonio, TX –– The U.S. Marshals Lone Star
Fugitive Task Force along with many local, state and
federal agencies combined their talents to arrest
fugitives throughout the entire Western Judicial
District of Texas in a week-long Operation FALCON
(Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally).
The Western District of Texas encompasses seven
Divisions throughout the state that include El Paso,
Pecos, Midland, Waco, Austin, Del Rio and San
Antonio. Each Division is responsible for a number
of counties. Each of these Divisions partnered with
fellow law enforcement officers June 22-28 to
conduct Operation FALCON, the largest fugitive sweep
to date in the Western District of Texas. This
combined effort resulted in 993 felony fugitives
arrested during the target week.
“While the Marshals are often the public face of
Operation FALCON, we have been extremely fortunate
that all of our federal, state and local partners
continue to wholeheartedly and enthusiastically come
together to make this work,” said John F. Clark,
Director of the U.S. Marshals Service. “With their
exceptional assistance, Operation FALCON continues
to be the largest and most successful fugitive
apprehension effort in the U.S. Marshals history.”
The U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas
LaFayette Collins said “I echo Director Clark’s
words and only add that the winners in all of this
are the citizens of our communities and the losers
are now where they belong.”
