On April 8, 2005, Stephen Craig Sage, 31, wanted by the North Las Vegas Police Department for trafficking a controlled substance, was arrested by members of Operation FALCON at his mother’s residence in Las Vegas, Nevada. Team members found Sage, and a methamphetamine lab he was operating, at his mother’s house and took him into custody. Highly volatile and toxic precursor chemicals utilized to make methamphetamines were present in the residence. Sage’s mother and nine year old daughter were also in the house. Sage’s mother utilized the residence as a child day care center and anywhere from four to fifteen children are routinely cared for there each day and would have been exposed to these dangerous chemicals. Sage was additionally charged with manufacturing methamphetamine within 500 feet of a business/daycare.
