HIGHLIGHT ARREST

 JOSE ALBERTO      HOMICIDE      CALIFORNIA

A Mexican foreign fugitive, wanted for homicide in Mexico, was located and arrested by officers from Operation FALCON.  On the evening of January 18, 2004, in Acambara, Mexico, Jose Alfredo Alberto-Trujillo, 26, and his brother accosted two victims on the street.  The confrontation was a result of a dispute over some female companions.  The argument resulted in one victim being shot five times and killed.  The second victim attempted to flee but was chased down and strangled to death.  Alberto-Trujillo then fled to the United States where information was developed that he was hiding out in Salinas, California.  Use of aerial photos and surveillance identified a possible vehicle and residence which ultimately led to Alberto’s arrest without incident.

Following his arrest, Alberto was processed and flown to the Mexican border at San Diego, California where he was turned over to Mexican law enforcement authorities.
