  • January 27, 2006 - William Raymond Ward surrendered to members of the United States Marshals Service's Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division (C.U.F.F.E.D.) Fugitive Task Force this morning in Charleston, WV. Ward was wanted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department for Failure to Appear for trial on several counts of Sexual Assault and Incest.
  • October 22-28, 2006 - Operation FALCON III - Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally - A massive fugitive operation, covering the eastern half of the United States, took place the week of October 22- 28, 2006. As a cooperative effort, Operation FALCON III removed some of the country’s most dangerous sex offenders and gang members from the streets, making America’s communities safer. FALCON III resulted in the arrest of 10,773 fugitives and the clearance of 13,333 warrants.
  • September 22, 2006 - On September 24, 1789, America’s first federal law enforcement agency was born. After President George Washington signed the Judiciary Act, he appointed 13 Marshals to uphold the nation’s laws. Much has changed since then, but the commitment of the United States Marshals Service has not. From protecting the judicial process to arresting some of this country’s most dangerous fugitives, the United States Marshals Service stands proud to serve this country and wear “America’s Star.”  
  • August 31, 2006 -  Deputies from the Southern District of West Virginia arrested Samuel Hicks in Princeton, WV on outstanding warrants for Attempted Murder and Robbery issued by authorities in Asheboro, NC.  Hicks was charged as a result of his alleged involvement in a June 22, 2006 incident in which the victim later passed away as a result of the injuries sustained.  This investigation was conducted in cooperation with the United States Marshals Service in the Middle District of North Carolina and the Asheboro, NC Police Department.
  • August 11, 2006 - Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Southern District of West Virginia traveled to London, UK during the week of August 7th to extradite back to the United States wanted fugitive Stephen Oles.  Oles fled the U.S. in 1999 and eventually traveled to the United Kingdom where is was arrested for various charges in London.  At that time he was also detained on the Southern District of West Virginia warrant for arrest.  Oles served approximately 5 years in a United Kingdom prison and is awaiting trial at this time in the U.S.
  • July 31, 2006 - Byfield Blake, a fugitive wanted for Escape over eight years ago in Philadelphia, was arrested by members of the C.U.F.F.E.D. Fugitive Task Force after receiving an assistance request from the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in E/PA (Philadelphia).  During the arrest, Blake denied his true identity before an automated fingerprint submission resolved this issue.  At the arrest location, a significant amount of narcotics were seized, along with three weapons.
  • July 27, 2006 - The “Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act” was signed into law by President Bush today, on the 25th anniversary of Adam’s abduction and murder. The Act makes it a federal felony for convicted sex-offenders to fail to register with their local authorities.
  • July 03, 2006 - Adrienne Yvette Hood was arrested on Friday, June 30, 2006 in Detroit, MI by investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT), working in conjunction with the Southern West Virginia, U.S. Marshals Service Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division (CUFFED) Task Force.  Hood was wanted by authorities in Cabell County, WV for Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
  • June 25, 2006 - Fugitive Kevin Stanley was arrested by the S/WV USMS Fugitive Task Force in Huntington, WV.  Tips generated from the picture of Stanley in the newspaper, which was a first in a series of pictures and profiles on the USMS Most Wanted, prompted citizens to call in and e-mail on the whereabouts of this fugitive.  Stanley was subsequently found hiding in a wall of a residence by Deputy US Marshals.  At the time of arrest Stanley was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. 
  • June 24, 2006 - The S/WV C.U.F.F.E.D Fugitive Task Force, working in conjunction with the Herald Dispatch in Huntington, WV., released their first WANTED fugitive picture of Kevin Stanley.  The Task Force hopes that by showing fugitives pictures in the newspaper to a multitude of people will increase law enforcement's effectiveness.
  • May 10, 2006 - Major Case Fugitive Christopher E. Henderson was arrested in Detroit, MI after a collaborated effort between the S/WV CUFFED Fugitive Task Force, the Detroit Fugitive Task Force and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office. Henderson was wanted for Wanton Endangerment out of Huntington, WV, related to a shooting incident in which approximately 80 rounds were fired from an AK-47 into two separate residences.
  • October 29, 2004 - On Wednesday, October 27, 2004, James Gordon Jennings was arrested in Winston-Salem, N.C. The capture of Jennings, wanted on 25 sex-related charges, was a collaborated effort between the sheriff's office and the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for Southern West Virginia
