December 20, 2011 - As her toys were unloaded from the cart onto the conveyor belt, 7-year-old Jackie Vasquez said there was only one word to describe her shopping experience: “fun!” "I didn't sleep at all last night, and I got up early today to get ready," she said dancing near the checkout lane at Target. Jackie was one of 40 children in crisis situations who was given the chance to go shopping with a law enforcement officer in the sixth annual Shop with a Cop.

December 13, 2011 - The United States Marshals Service led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is pleased to announce the addition of the Kyle Police Department to its fugitive hunting team. Announcing the latest agency to the task force, United States Marshal Robert R. Almonte of the Western District of Texas was on hand at the department’s headquarters to welcome Chief Jeff Barnett to its premier fugitive hunting team.

December 02, 2011 - Paul Coe White of San Antonio was arrested by U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, in Houston, Texas. White was wanted by the San Antonio Police Department for Robbery, Narcotics and Evading Arrest.

November 30, 2011 - Anthony Allen Ruston, of St. Paul, Minnesota was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force today just outside San Antonio. Ruston was wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department. This Failure to Register charge stems from two previous convictions for Sex Crimes involving females under the age of 13.

November 04, 2011 - Austin, TX - The U.S. Marshals Service in the Western District of Texas concluded a ten-week operation, dubbed Operation LASSO (Lockup And Secure Sex Offenders) as part of an ongoing emphasis investigating and locating fugitives charged with a myriad of sexual related offenses, crimes against women and children. Operation LASSO, a focused apprehension effort involving city, county, state and federal law enforcement officers spanning the Western District of Texas with operations centered in Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Del Rio, Alpine, Pecos, Midland and El Paso.   Operation LASSO - San Antonio

October 19, 2011 - The Hondo Police Department and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF), arrested Leonardo Rivas, a suspect in the fatal shooting of Felix Flores and the wounding of another in San Antonio this morning without incident.  His brother, Michael Anthony Rivas, is currently sought by the Task Force as his current whereabouts are unknown.

October 06, 2011 - Dustin Paul McFall was apprehended last night in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico by the Tamaulipas Ministry of Public Safety (Secretaria De Seguridad Publica) and quickly turned over to Mexican Immigration authorities. Judicial authorities in Nuevo Laredo determined McFall had no legal status to remain in Mexico and was expelled shortly before midnight at the US/Mexico Port of Entry in Laredo.

October 04, 2011 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force sponsored by the United States Marshals Service is announcing the arrest of Lee Roy Suarez. Suarez was wanted by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office for the homicide of Diego Saenz and aggravated assault of his brother, Vicente Saenz.

October 03, 2011 - Emmanuel Matthew “Manny” Mendoza was expelled from the Republic of Mexico at the El Paso Port of Entry into the hands of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force after an international investigation culminated in Mendoza’s detention by Mexican authorities in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Mendoza, a documented member of California’s West Side Tracy Nortenos street gang, was sought by law enforcement since his involvement in the botched robbery and subsequent murder of Kevin Prater II.

October 03, 2011 - The United States Marshals Service led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is pleased to announce the addition of the Buda Police Department to its fugitive hunting team. Announcing the latest agency to the task force, United States Marshal Robert R. Almonte of the Western District of Texas states, “the citizen’s of Buda will benefit immensely knowing that Chief Bo Kidd will have ready access to a task force of experienced law enforcement professionals to draw upon should the need arise.”

September 30, 2011 - A U.S. Marshals fugitive task force from Orlando, Florida arrested Midland murder suspect Christopher Hill at a motel in Sanford, Florida on Thursday, September 29th. On September 18th, Midland Police responded to a shooting on north Weatherford Street and found 28 year old Jeremy Johnson dead of multiple gunshot wounds.

September 13, 2011 - Andre Carrdale Underwood, of Birmingham, Alabama, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in north Austin. Underwood was apprehended without incident after information received from the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Montgomery, AL indicated Underwood recently fled after he failed to appear for a recent court hearing involving pending sexual abuses charges against a child.

August 10, 2011 - Abraham Moya Ortiz, whose last known address was in the Del Valle area, was arrested this morning by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force near the intersection of Tinnin Ford Rd., and Riverside without incident. Ortiz was sought by Bastrop County authorities last month for his alleged involvement with the continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first degree felony in Texas.

July 15, 2011 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force sponsored by the United States Marshals Service is announcing the arrest of Carlos Mireles Jr. Mireles has previous arrests for drug possession, resisting and evading arrest, burglary of a vehicle, family violence, assault causing bodily injury, injury to a child/elderly/disable with intent to cause bodily harm. In October 2010, Carlos Mireles was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

July 12, 2011 - John Everett Fitch, III was apprehended last night at a local motel in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico by the Tamaulipas Ministry of Public Safety and quickly turned over to Mexican Immigration authorities. Judicial authorities in Nuevo Laredo determined that Fitch had no legal status to remain in Mexico and was expelled shortly after midnight at the Port of Entry to the welcoming handcuffs of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in Laredo, Texas. Fitch was charged with failing to appear last month after he fled from his own jury trial in San Marcos, Texas. Fitch was charged with Indecency with a Child.

July 12, 2011 - Ernesto Hinojos was arrested yesterday without incident by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Hinojos was the target of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation and was subsequently indicted by a federal grand jury for his role in a Conspiracy, alleging his possession with intent to distribute approximately 3000 pounds of marijuana and over 5 kilograms of cocaine.

July 07, 2011 - Arthur Jeffrey Martinez, of Midland, was arrested last night by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force without incident in north Austin. Martinez was sought by Midland authorities after Martinez was identified as a shooter in a June 30th incident whereby Martinez was alleged to have discharged multiple rounds at a vehicle subsequent to a verbal altercation. Martinez discharged his weapon from within his vehicle towards the victim sending the vehicle out of control after the driver was hit.

June 22, 2011 - Brian Anthony Engleton was arrested on Friday, June 17, by the El Paso Police Department (EPPD) and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force without incident.  Engleton was sought for the alleged murder of his wife by the EPPD. The previous day, Engleton was engaged in a physical confrontation with his wife Deidre Engleton outside of her locally owned beauty salon. Deidre later succumbed to multiple stab wounds in the chest and neck area at William Beaumont Army Medical Center.

June 05, 2011 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force sponsored by the United States Marshals Service is announcing the arrest of Mark Anthony Gonzalez. Mark Gonzalez was charged by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) for the capital murder of Bexar County Deputy Sheriff, Kenneth Vann.

May 18, 2011 - Calvin Henderson of Winona, TX was arrested early this morning without incident by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.  Henderson was arrested at approximately 6:30 a.m., in Caldwell, Texas in rural Burleson County. Task Forces officers were made aware of Henderson’s presence by the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force in Tyler after information received in Tyler indicated Henderson had fled the Tyler area after he became aware of recent warrants for violating his requirement to register as a sex offender.  Henderson’s failure to comply with his registration requirement, a condition of parole after he was released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, subsequently caused state authorities to issue the parole warrant.   

May 13, 2011 - Vern E. Houston, of Corpus Christi, was arrested last night without incident by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Austin, TX.  Houston, a registered sex offender and transient was recently placed on the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office, Top 10 Most Wanted. Houston was wanted for a series of burglaries in the Nueces County area. Information provided to the Austin based task force indicated Houston was traveling with a carnival that recently arrived in Austin.

January 31, 2011 - On Friday, January 28th, the Midland Crime Stoppers hosted its annual award luncheon at the Petroleum Club for local law enforcement officers who have made significant contributions toward the safety of the community. Officers receiving awards this year represent the Midland Police Department, Midland Sheriff’s Office, Midland Fire Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

December 30, 2010 - On Tuesday, December 28, 2010, the Odessa Police Department and Texas Rangers were working to locate murder suspect Christopher Antonio Redic who was accused of killing Freddie Hall III. The Rangers reached out to the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force of whom they are a member agency, along with the Odessa PD and several other area agencies. The Texas Rangers had developed information that Redic may be in Monahans, and the task force quickly set up surveillance on several possible locations. On Wednesday, task force agents learned that Redic and his girlfriend had caught a ride to the Killeen/Temple area the day before, prior to law enforcement focusing on Monahans.

December 18, 2010 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force sponsored by the United States Marshals Service along with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) arrested 23 year old Davone Truitt. Truitt has 5 active felony warrants to include Aggravated Assault on a Child and Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer. It is believed Truitt has been hiding in Michigan in an attempt to avoid capture.

November 18, 2010 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) sponsored by the United States Marshals Service (USMS) arrested two fugitives this morning. Eddie Garza (also known as Eddie Medel) was wanted on a State Parole Warrant and Larry Solis was wanted on a Federal Warrant.

November 04, 2010 -  The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested wanted sex offender Robert Smith today in San Antonio, TX. Fugitive Robert Smith was wanted in both Florida and New Mexico for Sex Offender Registration Violations.

October 22, 2010 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested 42 year old James Griffin in a suspected crack house in San Antonio, TX. on Thursday. Griffin is the suspect in the stabbing death of his former wife. Her body was found inside her home on Monday in Cuero, Texas.

August 31, 2010 - Fort Worth Murder Suspect Captured in Odessa - On Sunday night, August 29th, Fort Worth police allege that 21 year old Dante Maurice Harris shot and killed an unarmed man in an apartment complex parking lot in northwest Fort Worth, and then fled the area on foot. Witnesses later identified Harris as the shooter, and a Murder warrant was issued the following day for his arrest.

August 11, 2010 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force along with DHS ICE ended the flight of 24 year old Miguel Angel Rivera today in San Antonio after a brief struggle and a taser deployment. Rivera was wanted in Webb County for Failure to Appear on a Kidnapping charge stemming from an incident in 2009. Rivera is a self-proclaimed Zeta gang member and an illegal alien. He faces additional Immigration Violations.

July 12, 2010 - Nasadeam Stewart of New Ellenton, South Carolina was arrested without incident in South Austin by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Stewart, along with Keith Antonio Williams and Kennard Thomas, also of New Ellenton, SC, was part of a trio charged two weeks ago by Aiken, South Carolina authorities with the alleged attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in Aiken.

June 10, 2010 - David Rios-Rubio and Bulmaro Tellez-Escobedo, both of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico were arrested without incident by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Rios-Rubio was arrested at approximately 6:30 p.m., in Georgetown, Texas and Tellez-Escobedo was arrested at approximately 8:00 p.m., also in Georgetown. Mexican authorities formally sought both fugitives arrest pursuant to provisional arrest warrants issued and unsealed by the United States District Courts in the Western District of Texas in San Antonio.

May 26, 2010 - The Explosive Detection Canine Program (EDCP) team of Deputy U.S. Marshal James Johnson and Polly visited Bellaire Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas to provide a demonstration of Polly’s extensive training to detect over 19,000 explosive odors. Ms. Valentine’s 3rd grade and Ms. De La Cruz’ 4th grade classes were fascinated by Polly’s ability to distinguish explosive odor filled cans from those without.

April 26, 2010 - On April 21, 2010, Detectives with the Midland Police Department received information of a possible murder for hire conspiracy. During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Johnathon Rendon, an employee with the City of Midland Animal Control department. The investigation revealed that Rendon planned to hire a co-worker to assist him in kidnapping and beating the ex-boyfriend of a girl that he has been dating.   

November 10, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) recently arrested 25 year old Roberto Ganoa. Ganoa was on the San Antonio Police Department’s MOST WANTED list for a homicide he committed in 2006. In 2006 Ganoa was charged with the homicide of his friend after a botched robbery attempt.

November 10, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested San Antonio Ten Most Wanted 31 year old Lucio Blake last night on Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child charges. This past October multiple law enforcement agencies partnered up to do compliance checks of sex offenders followed by a pre-halloween enforcement sweep for those wanted on sex offenses.

October 21, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested Ruben Nuncio Jr. on Federal Charges after developing information he may be hiding out at a motel in San Antonio. On September 28, 2009, a federal arrest warrant was issued charging Ruben Nuncio Jr. with a violation of the conditions of Federal Supervised Release.

August 04, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Child Sexual Assault suspect 48 year old Leonardo Miranda. In June of 2009, Miranda was accused of sexually assaulting a minor child in Guadalupe County and an arrest warrant was subsequently issued.

July 31, 2009 - Arturo Casas, 29, of Irving, Texas was arrested last night in the Williamson County community of Florence by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Casas was sought by the Dallas Police Department for his involvement as the alleged shooter in last week’s homicide in Dallas where Casas was seen fleeing from the scene after the victim was shot and killed with a handgun.

July 08, 2009 - Clayton Douglas Shoemate, 38, of Austin was arrested in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico by Immigration authorities. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force met Shoemate at the Port of Entry in Eagle Pass, Texas and was arrested for an outstanding January 2008 charge arising from the Austin Police Department alleging Shoemate was involved in sexual assaults against a child.

July 06, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) announces the arrest of Jacob Keller by Law Enforcement counterparts in Piedras Negas, Coahuila, Mexico. Information was developed by the Task Force that Keller was located just across the border in Piedras Negras. Jacob Keller was charged in San Antonio, Texas with Capital Murder. Keller is accused of fatally shooting two individuals at a Southside Gentlemen’s Club.

July 06, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested Pedro Sanchez after developing information that Sanchez may be hiding out in San Antonio. Pedro Sanchez was charged in San Antonio, Texas with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Sanchez is accused of stabbing the former boyfriend of Sanchez’s girlfriend.

May 11, 2009 - Clifford Bart Dunbar, 48, of Austin was arrested over the weekend without incident by the U.S. Marshals in Grand Rapids, Mich. after Dunbar attempted to evade arrest by jumping out of a 3rd floor apartment window. A joint investigation by the Austin Police Department and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force determined Dunbar was under investigation by Austin Police Department for his alleged involvement in a recent sexual assault. Dunbar was additionally sought by authorities for allegedly violating his Texas parole last month.

May 01, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Georgia Homicide Suspect Jerry Robert Hobbs.  In 1989 it is believed that Hobbs former girlfriend, Dianne Quinsenberry was removed from a Battered Women’s Shelter in Cairo, Ga. It is alleged that Quinsenberry was beaten to death although her body has never been recovered. Recently Investigator’s with the Thomas County Georgia Sheriff’s Office developed evidence that caused a warrant to be issued for Hobbs.

April 10, 2009 - On April 4th, 2009, after 18 years as a fugitive, Edward Charles Woods was captured by members of the United States Marshals Service, Operation Intercept Fugitive Task Force in Columbia, South Carolina. Woods was arrested and charged with Indecency with a Child in Williamson County in 1990.

March 4, 2009 -  The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Captures Two Murder Suspects in Two Days and Uses It's International Reach to Capture  Armed Robbery Suspect in Mexico.

February 04, 2009 - Fernando Martinez, 36, of Kyle, Texas, was arrested in rural Hays County, Texas by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force with critical assistance from the Hays County SWAT Team. Martinez was charged in the United States District Court in Dallas, Texas with two counts alleging that Martinez possessed with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.

February 03, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force partnered with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and other task force member agencies in the hunt and capture of 28 year old Reginald Adams in San Antonio. On Jan 17, 2009, Adams was erroneously released from custody after a number of charges (including a murder charge) had been dismissed.

January 20, 2009 - The last of the 3 suspects wanted in connection with a double-homicide that appeared to be leaning towards a cold case was arrested on Monday, January 19, 2009. Melvin C. Avina, 33, considered armed and dangerous was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force without incident.

January 13, 2009 - Jerel Carter, 18, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and Pflugerville Police in Pflugerville, Texas without incident. Carter was recently charged in Albuquerque, New Mexico for his alleged involvement in a November 2008 gang related shooting that left Irvin Samuels dead at the scene as a result of several gun shot wounds.

January 12, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force partnered with the Texas Rangers and the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office in the hunt for a murder suspect that had shot three females.

January 09, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive Task Force spent Friday hitting the streets of San Antonio and surrounding communities looking for and apprehending multiple fugitives in various locations.
