Escaped Federal Prisoner Arrested After 10 Years on the Run

Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoEl Paso - Today, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, LaFayette Collins, announces the arrest of Christopher Moore.

On July 17, 1997, Christopher Moore escaped from Federal Prison Camp La Tuna in El Paso, Texas after being committed to the custody of the Attorney General for a period of 88 months. Moore was originally convicted and sentenced for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine. Moore was documented as a member of the Bandidos OMG.

On August 27, 2007, Deputies from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in the Western District of Texas assisted by the Central District of California – Los Angeles Division and the Eastern District of California – Fresno Division, and the California City Police Department in California City, California located and arrested Moore. Moore had assumed a new identity and had fully re-entered society in California City, California. Moore is currently being held in Fresno, California pending his extradition back to the Western District of Texas – El Paso Division.

United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette Collins said, “Fugitives only have two choices when being pursued by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force; either peacefully surrender to law enforcement authorities or face a life of constant fear, knowing no matter where you hide or how far you run, in the end, you face justice.”
